Summary:
There are three bike trails in the Clear Springs Recreation Area of the Homochitto National Forest....the trail head starts there and includes a bike wash. There is a three dollar day riding fee or you can pitch a tent in the beautiful camping area ....that's what we did. Nice tent camping pad setup...The trails are Tally's trail at 12 miles long, Mill's Branch Trail at 5 miles and Richardson Creek Trail at 7 miles.. We did Richardson Creek and it was the most auesome experience I have ever had. We encountered a doe and a fawn....we stopped and rested in beautiful areas....it was rugged...ran out of water half way....kinda miserable...seemed much longer than seven miles. It took us three hours and lots of push....we were pretty worn out when we found our way out. The exit is tricky....want to make sure you don't get caught on the twelve mile trail accidentally. Markings are ok...but not great...would be good to have an accute sense of direction and some knowledge of a compass. Gonna bike it alone soon but I think it is a better idea to have someone with you. A few hazardous curves and hot corners but amazing downhills.

Recommended Route:
I recommend using the trailhead located in the Clear Springs recreation are in Meadville, MS. This is a National Forest....so it is well kept and I feel well executed. The number 601-384-5876

Other recommended trails in the same area:
I plan on checking out the Mill's Branch Trail tomorrow....I'll let you know....I would love suggestions on other trails similar to these

Summary:
great trail. very hard. in the hot months i stash water near a road, with aprox 5 miles of trail remaining. its missing a little of the extreme terrain that could be incorporated such as dropoffs and jumps. overall it kick my ass every time.

Recommended Route:
upon entering trail via trailhead, take first left.Aprox.35yards into trail. this will take you what they call "backwards",definitely the best way.

Summary:
A beauty, If you live in NO, it's well worth the drive as there are no real trails in the whole lousy state (La that is). You will swear you're not in Mississippi, but will think you're somewhere in North Carolina. Lots of hills, long climbs, some minor technical stuff, but a great character builder.

Recommended Route:
get a good road map
