Summary:
Short steep slippery pine straw climbs or dirt/sandy climbs......and some tight singletrack with some hard turns.....and of course various off camber roots and downed trees to hop.....it really is a decent trail to develop some technical skills

Recommended Route:
Time for an update....when you park at the power station off of richburg road...you can choose to ride the singletrack behind the power station which goes all the way to the south hattiesburg exit if ya know where your going.....if not you ride across richburg and hop over to the power lines where you can ride the tight single track that runs in the tree line between the powerline area and the "dirt road" that runs along the interstate......once youve completed that you should come out and cross under the interstate thru a concrete ditch come out on the other side of the interstate and ride the trails behind the homes back up 40th toward richburg road......then come out near the fireplug across from the small apartments on 40th and ride the classic stuff that is soon to be gone it appears

Other recommended trails in the same area:
None......other than Bethel, 60 miles to the south and Clear Springs which is an hour and a half to the west or Meridian which is 90 miles north

Summary:
Pretty tough but fun. Bring lots of H20 and get ready to bust in all that sand.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
When going south on 40th stop right before the road takes a sharp right before coming to Richburg. There are some trails to the left, just before the small cinder block apartments. Narrow single track pretty challenging and lots of fun.

Summary:
This collection of trails is a fixture in the burg, and when the weather is nice they make for some fun, if not very technical, off road riding. There are lots of ATV trails branching off the main line, and these can be used to skirt the low spots when they fill up with 2 feet of water. The low spots in this area are consistently churned up by MTX and ATV's, as well as trucks, so in wet weather they are almost impassable, as all the rain water collects in them. Dry weather is definitely the time to ride here. I like the wooded sections off the main line, as they offer more variety and are apparently less travelled. With a little tweaking these trails would be badass.

Recommended Route:
From I-59 take the Hardy St. offramp and take the first right onto S. 40th Ave. Go all the way down to Richburg Rd. and take a right. Cross the bridge over '59 and look for the power station on the left. The Power Lines are across the street from here. Park there in the grass. Get bike out of truck/car/SUV. Ride.

Summary:
The trail is great, there are several good loops, but that last downhill is a real doozy! By the way if you are in the Hattiesburg area, don't ask for Drew....He's a real idiot!

Recommended Route:
Any route is great, but I prefer clockwise. I gives me more time to get gnarly on the downhills...yeah!!!

Summary:
this is a great trail from the beginner to the advanced. It's greatest asset is it's variation of terrain. There is too much sand, but with all that in mind it is still one of my favorite trails.

Recommended Route:
turn on 40th off hardy take right at fork, park at power lines and go!

Other recommended trails in the same area:
there are a couple of new off shoot trails on the new rails to trail newly paved bike deal
