Summary:
I began riding bikes when i was 4 years old. The only form of biking i have commited myself too was BMX. Now i am a MSU student building a massive dirt jumping/ freeride park in these woods. I am about to start riding a hardtail freeride/dj mountain bike as well. In this certain patch of woods that i am buiding in there is great potential for a few amazing mtb Freeride/downhill/dirt jumping trails that can all interconnect through a big looping system. I have 3 jumps built primarily for BMX and possibly a dirt jumping ht mtb, these jumps require jumping skills, i am the only one who has cleared them to my knowledge. nearby on the same hill i intend on building a smaller set of dirt jumps to serve as a beginner jumping section that will hopefully get more people into dirt jumping. If anybody is interested in getting involved with construction efforts (such as working with dirt: digging, stacking, shaping, sculpting; or helping construct the bridge systems) then i'd love to hear from you somehow. When i'm in starkville i usually try and go to the trails from 3:30 until it gets dark to put in my time behind the shovel. The section is shaded in cool woods so doing work out there is never a problem. Cross Country riding is too boring for me.. come check out what i'm creating.

If there are any extremely talented hardtail dirt jumpers or bmxers with dirt jumping experience there is are the Savage South trails off Lakeland. You need to know somebody to ride them.

Great trail when dry! Nice and challenging ride...I really like what people have done to it...putting in wooden bridges, etc...

Summary:
Don't go right after rain...it tears up the trail. When dry can provide fun jumps, logs, and roots. Many alternate trails when clear...just keep an eye out for them.

Recommended Route:
When entering to the right leads to a jump and several trails. To the right is more of the uphill way, but still worth the work.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Tombigbee in Ackerman and Oak Mt. in B-Ham

Summary:
Started out just riding through the woods. With the help of Mike Murphy, Kendall Cole, and my brothers (Teal and Ford), and countless others, we turned it into a nice twisty little course. If you know the right route it can be a 5+ mile loop. Special thanks to Hugh Ector for the GPS mapping...

Recommended Route:
Just ride!
