I-59 to hattiesburg, This puts you on hardy street, take 40th street. Go through first stop sign. After this stop sign, these trails run through nearly every inch of the woods to the left. The greatest DH of the trails starts at the FIRST entrance to Baywood cove subdivision. They have plenty of room to park at their entrance. right behind the "Baywood Cove" sign, to the left, is where this trail begins. It's straight DH for about a mile. then it twists and turns, goes up and down, and has many different paths to get lost in. Just stay aware of the area around you, 40th will always be to your left.

Summary: Warning! Warning! Warning! Do not ride this trial if you dont like to get dirty. At first I thought this trail sucked but after I fell a couple of times because I couldnt get out of my pedals from sand build-up it was ok. This would probably be much better for dirt bikes but I was in the area so bring it. The trails are all broken up because of developments so you will only get about 3.5 miles at the most in one section. The trail consists of up and down hills with small "ponds" waiting for you at the bottom of each hill to get you wet. Even if it hasnt rained in forever, there will be mud or of course water waiting on you. But like I said before, get muddy and you will have fun even though clean up sux. Some areas can be trecherous (spelling?) because of erosions but it also provides great places to get some air. I would definately recomend a front fender for this trail. Bottom Line: Dont ride this trail if you dont like to clean or get muddy and please dont drive more then 30 minutes to get to it beacause it wont be worth it...God-speed
Recommended Route: FOLLOW MY DIRECTIONS!!! Everyone else's were wrong but I went to the local bike shop and this is how you get there. I came from 98 which turns into Hardy street. You then want to turn onto 40th street (right for me) but either way you come, turn so you are heading south. Then you will stay on this road until you come to the next stoplight maybe, I dont remember if there was one before this. That road will be Lincoln. It does take a while to get to Lincoln from Hardy because of all the stop signs. Now if you take a right there and head East on Lincoln then you can find the start/end of the trail but I dont suggest that because you have to "swim" to get to the trailhead. Instead, keep going straight threw the light crossing over Lincoln and stayin on 40th of course. You will then come to the next light/stopsign which will end 40th at a fence. Take a right and about .3 miles down the road will be a power station on your left. Park in that gravel area. The trail is right across the street threw a fence gate that has been torn down, right under power lines. The bike trail is off to the right of the power line once you go down the big hill of the dirt road...
Other recommended trails in the same area: Go somewhere besides Mississippi to ride your bike...but if you in Jackson, go down 25 and ride the Little Colorado across the street from Northwest Rankin High School. There are also trails off of Ha

Ridden Trail: Once a week

Summary: These were some pretty good trails, but development is going to put the kibosh on them before long. There are some pretty neat technical spots here, and the uphills with all those roots will leave you gritting your teeth. The descents are nice, and in some places you can just about fly, just watch out for fallen logs, because some of them are pretty big. It would be neat to get a group of folks together and do some maintenance on this trail before it gets swallowed up by the developers. Some ramps built onto the fallen trees would be cool, as well as the installation of a waterbar or two in the areas that are prone to washouts.
Recommended Route: From I-59, take the hardy St. offramp and take the first right onto 40th ave. Take 40th all the way to Richburg Rd and take a right. Cross the bridge over '59 and look for a power station on the left. There is plenty of room to park here and you don't run into any "issues" with the local property owners. Also, the Power Lines are right across the street, so you can ride them first all the way to the new Lincoln Road Extension, then loop back around and hit the Ghost Trail off 40th.

Summary: These trails used to be good but there are some many homes that have been build that have cut off much of the trails. You will get tired of this trail in about 30 minutes.
Recommended Route: I used to live in Hattiesburg and ride this area. However, I have been back only 3 or 4 times in the last year to this trail.

Summary: These trails were fun! They were rather difficult. Lots of steep Ups and Downs and ROOTS! Roots aren't always bad, they are the closet things to rocks in Mississippi. If this is your 1st time riding your trail, you may or may not choose to heed these words: Proceed with caution. These trails are tricky.
Recommended Route: Take 40th off of Hardy (main road) turn left before apartments, park adjacent to turn arrows.
