Summary:
BAD DIRECTIONS! The spot on the map is in the wrong spot, the road into the national forest is 4 miles west of Meadville off of 84/98. There is no sign for the park if you come from the east, so look for ClEAR SPRINGS RD on the south side. Great trail! It doesn't dry very well, so I wouldn't ride if it has rained in the last week. A few technical spots but nothing hairy, just losts of fun and a pretty decent workout. Hands down the best ride within 100 miles, and certainly that far south. I drove 3 hours to ride it and it was worth the drive, would have made more sense if there where more than just me in the car. Oh ya, now its $5 per car not $3, and they do have a guy that checks licence plates so I wouldn't try and scam. Pay your money, it's worth it.

Recommended Route:
I went CC, first on Mills Branch, then on Richardson Creek, I didn't ride Tally's Creek. Mills Branch was dryer, both awsome.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
I'd say this is as much fun as Oak Mountain in Burmingham, maybe.

Summary:
There's a lot of leaf litter on the trails this time of year. That combined with a little rain makes climbing difficult. My tires kept loosing traction on the uphills- had to do some hiking with my biking. The downhills were great and the fall colors on the leaves made for a beautiful experience, despite the trouble they gave me on the climbs.
Camping there was a pleasure, but bring everything you need; this place is 30 miles from the nearest town.

Recommended Route:
We did all of Mills Branch in the morning, and is was a workout. Did about half of Richardson's Creek after lunch and a long nap. It gets dark out there around 5 pm. We bailed and took a gravel road back to camp. The roads provide a fun way to enjoy some good downhill routes where you can then bail and ride the roads back up.
Don't miss the trail around the lake. It's short, but has some of the more technical riding of anything we rode; plus it's right there by the campsites.

Summary:
Other post that the trails are closed is not true and longer. All trails are open and in great shape. I am a local and have been on these trails about 6 times in the last month.

Recommended Route:
Talley is the longest and hardest. Mills Branch is the shortest but the 2nd to hardest. Richardson is easier of the three but the middle one when it comes to length.

If it is summer when you go. Carry bug repelent and watch for the banana spiders who like to spin their webs across the trail

Summary:
This trail was much better than I originally thought. It is located in a national forest, so between the rangers and the bike clubs, they do a great job of keeping it "natural" and maintaining the trail. The trail is very hilly with some great down hills and some gnarly climbs. I don't recommed this trail for a begginner, but although it is a great place to get better if your a near beginner! In other words, don't make this your very first trail! But this trail is great for the weekend warrior and more advanced riders. It is long, challenging, and beautiful.

Kudos to the guys who keep up this trail. I will make this visit mcu more ofter with this awesome trail only being an hour and 45 minutes away from Baton Rouge!!

Recommended Route:
Since I am from Baton Rouge, I make the day out of it and do all three trails. Tally is the longest at 12 miles. Richardsons Creek is about 8 miles, and Mill's is about 5. I would ride Tally's all the way through, then towards the end, take a left towards Richardsons Creek and Mills and Ride those. That is a long ride so be prepared. The cool thing is that all 3 trails loop back to the trail head, so you can do one at a time also.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Comite, BR- like a big long BMX track....very fun and very well taken care of.

Lincoln Parish, Ruston-like Clear Springs.
