Summary:
Great ride! Somewhat short but definately offers a challenge for any level. The trail will force you to become better at breaking and will increase your balance at speed through the many switchbacks. Watch out for the roots, catch them wrong and your front wheel will slide out. The trees are also a challenge, very narrow in spots and it's easy to catch a shoulder or handlebar on the turns. Watch out for deer standing on and along the trail! I came around a corner one time to find an eight point buck stairing me down!! I stopped, not sure of his intentions and after several seconds I guess he figured I wasn't much of a threat and walked off into the woods. Just about everytime I've been on the trail, I"ve seen deer.

Recommended Route:
Expert section, pretty tough switchback up hill and over logs.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Lebanon Hills. Longer and busier.

Summary:
I ventured out on to the trail today based on what others have said here. I had a good time, it is quite short but I did 3 laps and was done for. Winding bits are good fun (there's a small drop-off over a root which points you on a collision course to a fallen tree), the hills are quite small but those roots can stop you dead. A couple of trees do lie across the trail but I only had a problem with one of them. The downhill gravel parts were great. You can hit them hard, I eventually hit just under 30 mph while grinning. Despite the trail opening up it's still difficult to pass people - I tried. Some pics fom my day on the trail can be found at: www.twinnies.demon.co.uk/terraceoaks/

Recommended Route:
Easy, there is a mountain bike entrance (NE) which you can hit just by being on Burnsville Parkway. I came from Bloomington so I came down 35W and turned onto Burnsville. Took me about 15 mins to drive.

Summary:
I was very impressed by the Terrance Oaks mountain biking trail. It was very technical and the difficult area was actually difficult. Narrow single tracks, lots of hills to keep you coming back for more. This is a very well done trail, good route and maintained. You could tell this trail was designed for mountain bikes. The switchbacks and twists were very interesting (good placement) and fun to ride. This trail is not too long, you may need to ride it more than once to satisfiy your appetite.

Recommended Route:
Try every part of this trail.

Lebanon Hills
