Summary:
Whoever thought this was a beginner trail will be pleasantly surprised to come back and check it out now. There are numerous technical sections, with jumps, twisty singletrack, and hairy ladder sections. They will test you on every skill. The new section will have you out of your clips faster than you can say "oh shnikey, I think I am going to fall in the river!"
There is bypasses for the faint of heart and when there isnt, you can easily walk the trail. This is not a busy trail at any time of the year. It is closed in winter and spring, so please respect our delicaate trails system.
Please clean up after yourself, dont leave broken parts of your bike or yourself on the trail.

Recommended Route:
Seriously, I live 10 minutes from here. These are the real directions. I-96 to MLK/M99 Exit. head south on MLK/M-99 for app. 30 seconds til you get to the McDonalds, turn left on Bishop Road, turn right at the end of that road (dead ends at Grovenburg), follow to Nichols (go past Burchfield entrance), turn right on Nichols, entrance is 500 feet on Right.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Burchfield-same park, different entrance, pay to park.

turn right onto holt rd. go for approx. 3 miles. to grovenburg rd. there is burchfield park on grovenburg rd. you will have to pay to park here otherwise keep going on grovenburg rd to nichols rd turn right riverbend natural area is on you right free to park and all the trailheads seem to start\end here.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
rose lake i would only recomend in the early spring as they have no one to upkeep the overgrowth there..you may lose your buddy in the grass...

Summary:
The red and blue trails are beginners and a fun fast warm up. The advance area has good variety of log jumps, climbs and whatnot. Has some pretty good technical areas though slow going at times. Also is suprisingly hilly. Good for all levels and good fun.

Recommended Route:
When you park in the riverbend parking lot, go to the main trial entrance, turn right and follow the advanced trail signs.

Summary:
The beginner rating was given prior to the Mid-State Chapter of MMBA added an advanced section. This is a fun ride plenty of man-made stunts, rocks and logs in the advanced, and nice flat out fast rides through the beginner sections. Checkout the Mid-State Chapter's homepage for more info. http://www.verdigris-online.com/mid-state/ Chris
