Summary:
The trail is excessively easy on a mtb, best for beginners in terms of technical terrain. There is a lot of sand and the trail is reasonably challenging on a cross bike, which is what I use when I usually ride it.

While the trail is easy, the sand allow for a good workout so the trail is good for getting sustained efforts in, something that is more difficult on more technical trails since the terrain has more affect on how hard you can go.

Also because the trail is easy, it makes it nice to work on skills that you are just starting to learn, bunny-hopping, running through barriers, jumping barriers, sliding the rear wheel in soft, tight corners, etc. Doing skills training here is better than trying to find an open field that is available to the public to work on handling drills.

Recommended Route:
Do part of the West loop and come back almost to the entry bridge and then head East before crossing the bridge which connects to the East loop and heading out to the back section. This keeps you out of the sand pit in the back and allows for about 20 minute laps.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Upper Macatawa

Summary:
This is definitely not a hard core MTB trail, but if you get off the main trails, some of the side trails can be fun...There aren't many MTB trails in the Holland area, so give this one a try if you live close, or are in the area.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Bass River (about 12 miles northeast Holland)

Summary:
This trail is a bust. I suppose that a good trail good be made, there's plenty of land. If you want to ride a trail with cross country runners and people going for walks with their dogs, then this is it.

Recommended Route:
Stay home..

Other recommended trails in the same area:
There's not much for trails near the Lakeshore. Bass River is ok, I've been riding there for almost nine years, it's old news. Though I would like to thank whoever made the back section a couple years ago, that was a major improvment.

Summary:
This set of trails is fun. Its pretty flat with one or two big hills and some smaller hills all mixed in. Its good for practice and fun place to ride other than the road.Trails are marked by paint on the trees. Very wooded

Recommended Route:
I like taking A trail to C trail and C takes you back to the parking lot.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Pentwater Pathway is even more fun then Riley Trails.
