Summary:
Since this trail doesn't get a lot of attention, thought I'd write a review. Beaver Creek at the north Higgins Lake State Park and is a good beginner trail. Some sand and a few climbs that will work you. The trail is mostly flat and not technical. 50% of the trail is covered in pine needles and has some scenic routes through the woods. Starts off with a 1/2 mile up hill climb, a few hills, then flattens out. Ends with a couple climbs and a fast decent back to the trail head. A great trail for intermediate and advanced riders to open up and get some speed. Take the family or just enjoy the view. Overall fun trail to ride -- 6.5 miles.

Recommended Route:
Ride either direction -- not very busy. Watch the trail markers and make your own route. There is also a short cut trail that cuts through the middle.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Many trails through out the area -- Grayling, Gaylord, Mackinaw. Head up to Vanderbilt (40 minutes north - Gaylord exit) for a fun moderately technical trail.

Summary:
My wife and I just rode this again and she loved it. She was very challenged along with I, but wasn't overwhelming. Beautiful wood eveywhere along the Beaver Creek Trail. Great for all. Six miles of hilly trail through woods. Many shortcuts through along the way.
Much of the trail is a pine needle floor. Trail is wide enough for two riders to ride side by side through entire trial with exceptions. There are shorter trails that begin with a 1 mile excersize loop. Trail is entirely wooded and starts with a man planted pine forest that is very cool.

Recommended Route:
Beaver Trail
