Note: This trail used to be called Art Sharp. I consider this to be a fairly technical trail, but I am just leaving the beginner stage and becoming an intermediate rider. I suppose to a more experienced rider it would be an easier trail. Regardless of ability, it is a fun trail. It does exactly what the name would make you think, flows up and down. Towards the begining there are a lot of rock surfaces that dip to dirt and go back up to rock. I found myself having to take it pretty slow and careful in the begining and approached the first ladder bridge carefully. After about the first 1/3 of the trail I was able to run it a lot faster. It is not that it get''s easier or simpler, it just gets less rocky. If my memory serves me correctly there are three ladder bridges on this trail. Everything else is rock surfaces, dirt, and roots. I dont know what else to say about this trail... perhaps I lack the free-ride vocabulary. What I do know is this is a deservingly popular trail worth riding a few times at least.

Trail Directions
Take 553 towards the ski hill. Before you get to the "Additional Parking" lot for the ski hill and before you cross the bridge on 553 you will take a right (opposite side of the ski hill) up a dirt road known as the Benson Grade. This rode is steep and becomes rocky. If you are biking you will probably have to push up it, if you are driving you can make it in a 4x4 or slowly in a car. Wind up the rode until you reach a clearing. You will see a big pipe half burried to your left and a big oak tree on your right. Directly next to the tree is the trail head.

I don't know if they have worked on this since the last post, but this is a great trail! Good fast techincal trail with some bridges. You can really open it up if you don't mind bouncing off the rocks and roots. Makes for a great ride.

Summary:
Great trail. It needs some work right now... the winter/last season were brutal to it. After we bring our shovels and do some work on it, the trail will be tip top. Technical trail with a lot of "flow". A few bridges/logs... lots of up's and down's.

Recommended Route:
Above says it all.

Summary:
Art Sharp (aka, "The Flow") is a great trail for a warm-up or last-run (not that it's lame - just not super technical like many of the other trails in the area). A few technical features at the top and then flow, flow, flow! Then some more flow!

Recommended Route:
Top of Benson Grade. You really can't miss it.
