Pontiac Lake Trail

Tough, jarring trails. The downhills make you appreciate the importance of front shocks. Rocks everywhere. Super fast downhills, a couple put you over 30mph if you dare. It's very hazardous now that the trail is washout bad in some places.

Summary:
Pontiac Lake has some of the best technical single track in Michigan. There are plenty of rocks, roots, drop offs, climbs, sand and trees to keep you busy. Some areas are pretty rough, so keep a loose grip on the bars. The downhill areas are really fun. The super tight downhill switchback "Luge" area is very neat.

Recommended Route:
Start from the marked trail head and ride the trail through. Pretty straight forward.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Highland, Maybury, Island Lake, Stony Creek

Summary:
As compared to other trails in the area it is a very fast trail. It takes an enthusiast just under one hour to complete. It is generally not very twisty but the speed and some bone shaking areas will compensate the fun. There are some hard (for Michigan at least) climbs and one crazy descent. Overall a great workout for a day after work.

Summary:
Great Michigan Trail. Offers a long enough ride with enough of nature's obstacles like rock gardens, brisk climbs and burner descents to keep you motivated and smiling. A few well placed log rides would really put this trail over the top!

Summary:
This trail is as fun as you make it. Attak it and it'll give you a nice workout, plently of rocks and mid size climbs to keep your attention. The fun really begins on the fast desends, you can reach speeds in the low 30mph's on the back section if you really dig in.

This is a trail that to reallyg get a great workout you'll want to hit twice during you visit. Another nice thing is during the change of season there aren't a ton of leaves on this trail so maintaining a good clip is not an issue.
