Summary:
Highland; Tight. Technical.
Provides a great workout. (especially if your willing to do all 4 loops)
Ive heard that some world renown german mnt bkr racer dude designed the course. Not sure bout that. I am sure that if you get a chance, roll through this course!
Especially D trail. If you dont mind cheating, check out the trail head map n take the horse trail shortcut to the cross roads n hit the D. The switches r sweet followed by a big climb, ending with one of the best technical downhills in MI

Recommended Route:
in-between-the-trees

Other recommended trails in the same area:
p-lake pukawatame marquette!

Summary:
This is a great trail. It has 4 loops to it and the signs can easily direct you to each one. The uphills were long, but always had rewarding descents. There were rocks and roots that could be quite large. The trail gets very tight at some points. I felt like I had a good rhythm through out all the trails.

Recommended Route:
Do all 4 loops (A,B,C,D) for a little over 2 hour ride.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Pontiac Lake, Stony Creek

Summary:
This is the best trail in south east Michigan. Although there is no mountains it is a good and entertaining workout. There is plenty of steep short climbs and nice downhills. This trail is extremely curvy which makes it lots of fun. There are some roots and rocks as well but do not expect Colorado style riding. Nonetheless it is an excellent workout which will take you 2+ hours to complete all four loops. Over 16 miles long it is highly recommended.

Recommended Route:
All four loops.

Other recommended trails in the same area:

Summary:
Great trail for those who enjoy a bit of pain for breakfast. Very tight, obtrusive and low speed/high resistance lines. This trail is easy to get lost on so please study the maps placed olong the way. This is the very best rain date trail around metro Detroit, just be careful on the end of descents, they have a way of introducing you to the friendly trees.

Summary:
Always a blast. I don't consider this "technical", but "tight". The climbs are fun but I'm not rewarded with any long down hills, so this is more of a training trail. Be prepared to do at least one hour's worth for loops A and B. If you go there on the weekend and have time to kill, do all A through D and be prepared to spend two hours riding.

I prefer this trail in the fall after the bugs die. In the middle of the summer, they can be obnoxious (I had to change a flat tire once and counted 50-60 moquito bites--yep, forgot bug spray.)

Scenery--not much. You're in the woods. It's reallly quiet. That's what I like about it--I feel like I'm in the U.P.

Recommended Route:
ABCD if you have time. AB if you don't. You won't have hikers and other trail users to bother you, which is nice.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Pontiac Lake--much faster

Lakeshore in Novi--you could ride a beach cruiser through this one, although it's still fun

Potowotomi. Long, pretty fast. More of the same after a while. I like doing the Poto for the scenery--some secluded lakes--really pretty, but the hikers make me stay on my toes.

My rating is higher than 3 for technical and 3 for aerobic because of it's overall enjoyment--I feel like I've accomplished something when I'm done, but I would rather have more varied terrain to give it a higher overall rating.
