Summary:
Decent trails and well maintained by the CCC. Some technical with roots and rocks. Though there isn't any good climbs, there are come small hills to tackle. Except for the technical parts, you can get going pretty good on most trails.

Recommended Route:
For a good workout I will ride these trails in this order:

North Loop, East River, 3-4, 1-2, Driving Range, Hedge Row, Museum, School Trail, Tunnel Trail and then in reverse order starting with the School Trail again.

I grew up on those trails. They got me into mountain biking.most of the trails are fairly easy. The probert trail is by far the hardest with some pretty steep climbs.all and all good beginner and afternoon riding and you don't have to go far from home.

Recommended Route:
probert trail in the back of the park by the river. the tunnel trail on the other side of stonewall by the golf course

Summary:
First off, I'd like to give big props to the Cascades Cycling Club for building and maintaining the trails at Ella Sharp - for those of us mountain bikers in Ann Arbor, it's great to be able to ride there.

The trails at Ella Sharp don't have any stunts or difficult obstacles, but can make for a challenging cross-country ride. I am an excellent rider and am comfortable riding extremely technical trails as well as difficult stunts. Ella Sharp isn't going to test your ability to stay on a 50-foot ladder, but it will test your bike-handling skills, especially if you put some effort into riding the trails. If you ride them hard, it's an extremely good workout and your bike-handling skills will improve as well. Put it this way: if you are looking to get a good x-country workout, Ella Sharp is an excellent place to ride.

Check the Cascades Cycling Club for a good description of the trails (http://www.cascadescyclingclub.org/TrailsDesc.htm) and check the MMBA site (http://www.mmba.org/trails.php?trail=32) for trail maps.

Recommended Route:
Follow the Cascades descriptions for the best route.

Burchfield up at Holt is awesome as well!
