, from Essexville, MI Summary: This is one of the slowest most tiresome rides i do. I only do it because its the closest actual trail. And for matt from middland who mentioned semi-extreme hes never been out of michigan. Crossing under the highway to stubway is a much better choice. the only fun section is to the east of the parking lot in the little ravene. Im currently in Arizona riding flagstaff, sedona and around the phenix area. These are real trails, trails like Catwalk in Flagstaff, little bear, or upper oldham trail. On these trails if u go off its about 500 ft down the side of a mtn before u come to a stop. Everyone should go down to Bloomer, and that surrounded area before u go to pine haven.

, from Midland, MI Summary: Has a verity of terrian, both technical and semi-extreme. Great ride for the experienced, if you're not experienced don't ride with experienced riders, you'll fall behind fast! There are a lot of little bridges, all which are safe. Recommended Route: Keep taking all trails to the right off from the main trail. Go under the overpasses and then take the first trail to the left. Not sure on distance, usually takes a good 1 1/2 to complete the shorter loop. When you get the the first road go down to the left, or you can keep going straight. If you go Left, you'll end up back at the overpasses, but on the other side of the river. Other recommended trails in the same area: City Forest, it's a great starter before heading out to pine haven.

, from Midland, MI Summary: Very fun place to mountain bike close to where I live. It is the 1st exit after Sanford lake coming from Midland/Bay City, and turn left after the exit, and follow the signs to Pine Haven. I believe there is a trail under the overpass for US-10 that can be reached by riding the highest loop on the trail map(xc ski trail) and you should see a trail going towards the overpass. I have yet to ride this because the friends I ride with are not yet up to it. Trails the whole family can enjoy. I would rate a 5, but due to lack of mountains in michigan, a 4 seems fit. have fun mountain biking! Recommended Route: The technical singletrack is about 3.5 miles and makes for a great ride you can do in about 1/2 hour. Trails are very muddy in the spring, so bring a towel. Also try riding the black diamond cross-country ski trails for some fun downhills and climbs. Other recommended trails in the same area: Midland's City Forest has a few good mtb trails, but they lack the ups and downs like Pine Haven.

, from Saginaw Summary: This 11-mile loop has lots to offer for experienced cyclists. It has lots of steep downhills followed immediately by steep uphills, so preserving your momentum is key! There are lots of roots and logs on this trail, so watch out as these will be slippery when wet. And speaking of wet.....if it has rained any time recently, and especially through early May, it can be extremely muddy. However, it's usually dry in the summer and much better to ride. This trail is not for beginner riders. Recommended Route: Stubway trail after you go under the expressway

, from Bay City Summary: In spring... very wet. I went yesterday and about 1/4 was pure mud and standing water. It was a blast... bring a towel to put on the car seat, cause your gonna get dirty! All in all, it's a riot! Recommended Route: Coming from I75 it's the second sanford exit.... Other recommended trails in the same area: Holdridge
