, from Lake Orion Summary: This trail is rideable long before anything else in the spring. It drains well, and has a solid base. As soon as the weather is nice, however, too many dogs off the leash are here due to the dog park. There are signs posted about the mandatory 6 foot leash outside of the dog park, but it is more often than not ignored. Most of the animals are well behaved, but a few owners cant control their dogs very well. I recommend carrying pepper spray. Recommended Route: Large loops can be had by sticking to the perimeter trails. Climb the big hill in the middle a few times from different directions combined with a few long loops around the park for a decent training tide. Other recommended trails in the same area: Pontiac Lake Rec Area, Bald Mtn

, from Lake Orion, MI Summary: Overall I really enjoy this area, althought maybe a little easy for the experienced rider the scenery is excellent with a lake and many nice spots nearby for an enjoyable rest. A great place to take the family out on. Not huge, just ride for a quick ride, one of my favorites if used just for fun. I live actually less than half mile away so I bike it at least 4 times a week and find it great. Recommended Route: Go thru the wooded areas on the outside and perimeter of the park

, from clarkston Summary: Mainly rolling two track with a couple of too short single-track sections. Great place for beginners. The more experienced rider might find it a bit boring. But when ridden at a fairly quick pace, this trail can accually be fun. Recommended Route: There are no defined "routes" to follow. Maps can usually be found at the parking areas on both Clarkston rd. and off of Joslyn. Other recommended trails in the same area: bald mountain, pontiac lake, holdridge lakes

, from Oxford Summary: It is a good trail system for beginners. I take my 9 year old there. There are a couple of small climbs and some short down hills. The trails are wide enough to pull a trailer, so take the wife and kids. Orion Oaks is a great place to take the family. Recommended Route: Pick your own.

, from Oxford, MI Summary: Orion Oaks is a fantastic place to walk your dog. As far as mountain biking, well, at least it isn't paved, like an ever-increasing portion of Oakland County. It's also a great place for a trail run, or snow-shoeing in the winter time. If you see someone walking a German-Shorthair named Penny, it's me. Say hi. Recommended Route: Make up your own. Other recommended trails in the same area: Potowatami, Holdridge Lakes
