Weekend Warrior Summary: Wow - what a great ride. Very scenic with many long but gradual hills. Technical spots are few but the many hills will tire the beginner rider. The downhills had me hooting like a little boy! Trail is in excellent condition with only a few spots of sand. No mud! For Marilla trail figure 19 miles down and back on the singletrack. So far my favorite trail in Michigan... Recommended Route: Take M115 2 miles north of Mesick, Left on Hodenpyl Dam Rd for 6 miles to Marilla trail head. Well signed.

Cross Country Rider Summary: The marilla section of the North Country Trail is where I got my start in Mountain Biking. It's a great trail for beginner to advanced, at least for the area. Long up hills and down hills so bring the oxygen. Recommended Route: Off of beers road west of Mesick past red bridge to Tippy Dam. Other recommended trails in the same area: The Vasa

, from Waterford,MI Summary: Go west along the river bluffs. It is the most scenic ride I have ever done! Go west until about 7 miles where it turns into 2track then turn around and ride back for 14 miles. technical in some places and going west when the trail goes downhill its fast and steep and straight! lots of pretty spots to stop and enjoy mountain biking. at about 2.5 miles high bank rollaways is the best view in the trail! Recommended Route: From manton take m42 to north 31 rd. which leads to baxter bridge. park at the boat launch and ride up the hill north on the road. the trail starts at the top of the hill. go west.

, from midland, mi Summary: there is some hard climbs but the downhills after you get to the top are stinkin awesome! great views and scenery. trails jogs in some spots so it is kinda hard to follow and some sections mtn. bikes are not allowed on. the campgrounds i stayed at were pretty sweet..especially Tippy Dam, Sawdust Hole, and Bear Track! the rope swing on tippy dam lake is the bomb-diggety! trails have nice singletrack and is a fun ride. get out and ride it! what the hell ya waitin for? Recommended Route: i have only ridden Manistee Ntl. forest parts of the trail but the North Country trail goes from New York to North Dakota (3200 miles total) Other recommended trails in the same area: any parts of the N.C.T. would probably be fun, make a trip out of it!
