Clear Springs Recreation Area

This is a newly opened trail and very well maintained. The trail loops around Old Mill Pond, and although it is a short loop, there are a couple of other optional routes you can add to your trip, then what I do is I begin to do figure 8's riding the loops in opposite directions and in different orders. Depending on direction of travel, there are 2 climbs worth mentioning. There are also a couple of very fun rollercoaster type downhills that shoot you right up the other side if you're willing to pedal thru the downhills. There are just enough technical sections to keep it interesting. This trail is a great place to begin teaching a beginner to take the next steps in advancement of his or her's skills and it also serves as a nice close option to get in a few miles after work to keep the senses sharp. On average I tend to get anywhere from 6-10 miles in per visit. The setting is also very scenic with picnic tables scattered around the pond, a fire pit, and a porta-john.

Summary:
This place is AWESOME! Very scenic and unspoiled.....a perfect spot for thrashing knobbies. The BIG bummer are those freaky bird watchin' tree huggers types. Me and my bro usually power wheelie passed em hangin the bird, so most of the time they just leave. Watch out for the dude with red goatee though cause he'll chase your can down. I think he was in Nam or something.
Better ride it before they shut us down. Rock On!!!

Recommended Route:
Anticlockwise of course!

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Mom's back yard....watch out for the clothes line.
