Summary:
Well, there hasn't been a review since 2003 so I thought I'd chime in. This is a fun, flowing, mostly fast-paced 7.8 mile loop. It's broken up into 4 parts separated by 3 dirt-road crossings. It's beginner and intermediate skill level. A few technical sections, but mostly fast and flowing. A few climbs, but none too strenuous. A few fast downhills. Quite a bit of sand, lots of roots, a couple bridge crossings, 1 or 2 log crossing. Great scenery through hardwood forest. This is a fun trail. You can take it easy and enjoy the nice scenery or push hard and do 2 or 3 laps and get a great workout. Also this trail is locally referred to as egypt valley.

Recommended Route:
On the road crossings remember to go RIGHT on the first, LEFT on the second, and RIGHT on the third. All are marked well, though.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Cannonsburg ski resort. Only a few miles away. Much more technical. Intermediate and advanced. Not for beginners. Steeper climbs and descents. Lots of switchbacks. Very fun! 5.5 mile loop. Plus there is a trail going straight up the ski hill.

Summary:
I love this trail. Sure there is a big sand spot but in reality where isnt there one. This trail is both extremely fast and also great hills. All in all the trail is bar far one of my favorites. Excellent shape year round.

For Expert and up I would recommend doing several laps. I time trail this trail on Sunday mornings before the slower people get there. Do not time trial this during the week its pointless and you need to respect other riders.

Recommended Route:
The Full Loop Several times.

Summary:
This trail gives you a quick ride with a good variety of climbs, switchbacks, and descents. A good after work ride if you do it a couple of times. I wouldnt recommend it to beginners because they will probably get run over by the locals. -GPS- vertical rise: approx. 450'; trailhead: 43 1.69N 85 30.235W

This trail is really not the fun but the scenery is flip flap flippin sick. If you cant go west for real trails, go to southern MI for some fun trails and to the U.P. for some phat scenery

Recommended Route:
GO WEST TO COLORADO, MUCH MORE FUN
