Summary:
I am sorry to report that this trail no longer exists. A developer has purchased the land and is turning into a golf course with lots. It already bulldozed with nothing left of the trail.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
VASA Single Track near Traverse City. The Shingle Mill Trail near Vanderbilt

Ridden Trail:
Once a month

Reviewed by: Bill Shepard , from Troy, MI

Summary:
nice mix of trees, short steep climbs & descents. Nice cedar lowland area at south end with some tree roots. Fallen trees across trail occasionally, but regulars maintain it well. Some loose sand areas, but generally room to avoid soft stuff. A few treacherous hairpins. Pretty well marked unless you're going fast or low light conditions. Well drained. High point 1000 ft, low point 800 ft. On land owned by Shanty Creek for future golf course (hope not).

Recommended Route:
starting from SE corner, off W side of Del Mason Rd, avoids very sandy Frog Holler Rd approach. Trail is marked best for clockwise direction. Two loops: Blue (harder), Yellow (supposed to be easier, but not much). Trail maps available at resort lobbies.
