Weekend Warrior Summary: This was way too man made. They try to fit as much trail as possible onto a postage stamp area. The rocks in the trail were more of a pain than a trail feature. You keep seeing the same thing because you already massed the same feature but from 10 feet away. Recommended Route: Skip it. Other recommended trails in the same area: Stoney creek is better, and much more economical. Bloomer park is also a step up.

Cross Country Rider Summary: I thought this trail was great. Lots of fun, big confidence booster and a good way to kick back and hone your skills. If you just want to go for a ride and you want more play than work this is for you. Not a very long trail, at least not that I noticed.

Ridden Trail: Once a month

, from Lake Orion, MI Summary: Addison Oaks is in the midst of a trail building project. The park is working with the MMBA to create new sections of singletrack that for now is bumpy but because it is still new trail. A lot of the trail is being routed to avoid the wet sections that Addison has been noted for having in the spring. Most of the work on the first section has been done, mainly by one individual who now has over 300 volunteer hours this year. Next year there are other sections of singletrack that will be added in the hillier section of the park. This is a good place to take beginner riders. I don't think you will still compare it to riding across the lawn once it is done. Recommended Route: If the race direction signs are up follow those. Other recommended trails in the same area: Bald Mountain, Stony Creek

, from Grand Rapids, MI, USA Summary: On 9-15 I raced at Addison Oaks in the Beginner 25-29 group. Excellent trail for beginners. The day before the race was my first chance to preview it and I liked it, and by the end of the weekend I completed 3 laps.(40 min avg. lap 6.5 miles) Starting through the single track I decided already that I would like the trail, due to the technical aspect and lack of large hills. The second thing I liked about this trail is the rolling cross country ski trails where you can ride two or three across. It was fast and had enough curves to keep me interested. I didn't like the final single track section, because it felt too bumpy (like horses went through) and spungy so I felt like I was going too slow. The diversity and changes in the trail is the main reason I give this trail 5 nubs. I loved the logs and rock piles which is a nice change from the beach-sand we have at Cannonsburg near Grand Rapids. Recommended Route: Route marked for race on 9-15-02
