some very technical, muddy singletrack near the lake (my favorite) and long, steep, wide fire trails on the hill.

Summary:
Weir Hill is a great place for short beginer to itermediate riders. The trails are fire roads and single track with a few new trails that were build this past summer by kyle and his bro. The hill is somewhat dificult and gives the rider a challenging biking experiance.

Recommended Route:
Weir Hill is right between North Andovers water supply, Lake Cochicowick and Stevens Pond. The trails can be entered at many locations. Edgewood, Stevens pond, and the main enterence between Millpond and Edgewood.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Little Masabesic is a great place in lower NH

Nice Map at http://home.att.net/~stephen.manning/weir_web.gif

Recommended Route:
From Trail head on Osgood St, Go Straight for the singletrack. There is a lot of singletrack along the water, and between the 2 hills. Usually ride every day during lunch hour, and just take a different route to keep it exciting. The fire road down towards the water from the bench is fast, and fun. The singletrack down Weir hill towards the water is technical, and fast.
There are a lot of hikers with dogs, be cautious on blind corners. Can vary the loops, usually about 4-5 miles without repeating trails.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Ward Hill, Salem Town Forest, Massebesic, Fort Rock,

Summary:
I love this place. Rode this DAILY for 5 years racing against my Dog. It has terrific variety for such a small area. You'll never got bored. Always a challenge just trying to ride it faster every time.
Some areas along the lake freeze up in the winter. Watch where you put your front wheel!

Recommended Route:
I prefer to start by Millpond. Ride along Stevens Pond to warm up. Then hang a left just before you cross the bridge. Stay right all the way along the lake as far as you can go. Some very rooty areas along the lake that get very slippery with the water run-off from the hill. The up the hill to the retirement community. Left then right twice. Left across the bridge (no setting foot on the other end!). More roots then sharp left up the steep fire road to the field at the top for a great view (has a bench for those who need it!). Then hang a left for some awesome single track! Down then right going up and up again. Over the top is the best part, full speed down on twist single. Once back along the lake turn left to do the loop again or head right. Then keep on straight to go back UP to the field with the bench and back down the superfast fire road (try it with no brakes!!!) and then back out.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Charles Ward Reservation

Summary:
Weir hill is a fun place for great short rides or if you want to ride it a few times in a day that is good too. It has some great downhill sections where you can just bomb down. Watch out for hikers, dogs, and hippies.

Recommended Route:
The best place to start is if you go up through the elderly home called edgewood up on osgood st. There are many little trails that you can take from there as well as a fun downhill that brings you along the lake right away. Spend some time finding new trails because it doesn't seem like much but there is a lot of trails packed into a pretty small area.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
A good place to go for riders in the area is the little Masabesic trails in NH, and listen to my report of this trail because I live almost next to the trail and ride it about 4 times a week.
