Summary:
This trail is a safe trail for any age,but in particular those who have small chidren. Although some would consider it a mountain bike trail,it isn't. Another great thing is that it goes from Ayer MA to Nashua NH.

More trails are needed like this, and it looks as though they plan to continue it. I like the idea of being able to get on the trail and be in NH.,in a matter of minutes. In particular, going to Nashua in this case. Be that as it may, being able to go from there and connect to another trail of a smillar nature would be very enjoyable.

Recommended Route:
There are several ways that I enjoy, since I live approximately in the middle, sometimes I go to Ayer on one side, and Pepperal on the other. It's great, because not only do I have a great ride but I can get off, half an ice cream or drink in the middle of my ride and then continue, enjoying the senery, that's until it comes to an end which in my eyes ruins the ride. I'm sure that will not be for long, because I see many riders on it all the time and they all feel the same way. Still I give high marks as good ride, especially for someone like me who is trying to get back into the fray as it were.

Summary:
I, as well as many other people are furious at the dirtbikers and 4-Wheelers for ruining our beautiful forest, however, I bring good news. The town government has finally noticed this growing problem and have banned all motored vehicles from the trails, thank you god. So from now on our trails will no longer be stripped and destroyed. Enjoy.

Recommended Route:
Everything has a good section.
Just remember, what goes up must come down.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
The Haystack Observatory on the Groton-Westford Line, it's very technical.

Maybe you should thank the dirtbikers for cutting these trails in the first place. It was theirs long before we began riding there.

Summary:
This USED to be a great off-road experience. No longer. The trail carnage from the ATVs has eroded and rutted most of the double track to make it so loose that its a joke - shame on them. The place smells of exhaust and you hear the constant roar of the ATVs. I hope someone puts an end ot this ATV maddness SOON and restores the trails so they are ridable again. Ditto for the single track - the continued dirt bike use has made the steep uphills that a good technical rider could handle now impossible.

Recommended Route:
Go elsewhere

Summary:
First time at Groton Town Forest and I thought it sucked for the most part. The ATV's and dirt bikes have ruined the trails. They have cut many ride-arounds and turned the soil into a sandy rocky eroded mess. I only rode 2 trails worth my time: the loop down to the river and back that started left out of the parking lot on Town Forest Rd., and this one steep trail with 4 good drops that was deep in the woods somewhere. The berms were fun but the rest was crap!

Recommended Route:
Left out of parking lot-loop down to the river and back .

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Vietnam, Lynn Woods, and other secret trails that I would not post so ATV's could not f- them up.
