Chaos

Trailhead at parking lot (yellow trl) burned down building -table ramps- around builing (blue trl) down hill, across makeshift brigde, look for sign "chaos"
rock gradens, stone wall rides, trenches, ALL!
Summary: Whatever you want to call this place, (Asnebumskit, chaos, boynton, the Bump) it is the best and most demanding ride in the worcester area. Approx. 14 miles of trails loop through here, most very rocky and the hill climbs are tedious. Elevation change is about 600-700 vertical feet from top of hill (e-1350) to bottom of cascade. Reservoir st. sign says elev. 718 ft. This makes for some seriously fun downhills, and painful climbs back up. Save the best trail for last. Chaos has over 15 stonewall crossings, (as if it were'nt rocky enough) and the final runout will make you think about your medical coverage as you careen down a pile of rocks deemed a trail...good luck...Asnebumskit Rocks...literally
Recommended Route: best place to park is at softball field-->mid way point Downhills: Boynton park to cascade (red trail), radio towers to chute, scott brook trail to south st. farm tough climbs from reservoir st. to top of radio towers, but dh's are worth it.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Spider gates, Green hill park, west millbury

Ridden Trail: Once a week

Summary: Asnebumskit Hill is one of the highest hills in Worcester County and the riding is superb on all sides of it. Singletrack abounds below the radio towers with rocky descents, stone walls, log-rollers and stumps. Expert riders will love the descent, but you won't get any respect unless you climb up the 3-mile hill first.
Recommended Route: This area is enormous..."Chaos" is but one trail of many that loop through Worcester, Paxton, Holden, and Leicester. For maximum vertical ride from the radio towers at the top of Asnebumskit hill to the cascade at the end of Cataract street in Tatnuck. Also ckeck out "the chute" if you can find it. It is a fast downhill where your brakes aren't necessary as you whip through an overhang of trees and brush.
Other recommended trails in the same area: The trails of Boynton park and cascade park add challenge to this area, but there are many more to explore on the Leicester side of Rte 122. The ride to "spider gates" cemetery is a good jaunt.

Summary: I'm not sure if I should post here because I walked instead of rode one of the trails. I can't imagine riding it! Yikes!! It was awesome, though! I started out coming in from Mower Street, walked down Cascade Street and entered the trails there. I followed the red trail, uphill, rocky and beautiful! Following along, I came to the stream and little makeshift bridge, crossed it and continued up until I reached the blue trail. That was much steaper, had huge boulders and cascading falls! What a walk! It was worth every effort! I took lots of pictures because such beauty surrounded me. I was thrilled to have brought my camera with me. Rather than ending my hike there on Juniper Street, I followed the trail back out to Cascade Street. It was a perfect challenge for me and I'm looking forward to going back and exploring more. Enjoy!
Recommended Route: All of them, I'm sure!
