, from Boston Summary: This was a very good ride. Did the singletrack loops described by other reviewers, starting in Arcadia parking lot: singletrack behind Kennedy Park to climb up to Baldhead, looping around singletrack south of the reservoirs, then up the jeep road to radio tower on Lenox mt and across that ridge to the ski place. Total (according to GPS): ~17 miles, 3650' climbing, 3.5 hours. Fairly technical due to rocky terrain, but only two really tough sections in total. Great singletrack decents. Good, tough climbs. Only saw 1 rider and a hiker or two on the busy July 4th weekend. Some killer views. Overall, highly recommended. Recommended Route: The detailed loops described by the other reviewer were good.

Ridden Trail: Once a month

, from Lenox, MA Summary: An all-around great ride, there are some really wonderful rock sections on all the trails, some of them are pretty tricky. Climbing is no joke here, which is true of all the Berkshire rides, but especially true on the Yokun Ridge, if the stuff in and around the Burbank loop isn't enough for you climber-types head across reservoir rd and hoof it up to the radio Tower. The section from the radio tower to Bousquet Ski Resort is very technical, but good rock ring tested fun. I agree with the guy above, beginners to experts can really sink their teeth into this place, so when you've exhausted the fun of Kennedy park, come on over and try your hand on the ridge. Recommended Route: The above route is a solid choice, but there is a ton more to explore on off of Reservoir Road. Other recommended trails in the same area: Beartown and October Mountan of Course!

Ridden Trail: Once a week

, from The Muthaland Summary: All in all, this may be the best ride in the Berks especially when combined with some warm-up time through Kennedy park. The Climbing (which is significant) and the rocks offer some appeal for the experts but nothing here is so intense that a beginner couldn't have a great time as well(though they might need to carefully pick their way over some of the tougher stuff). Another bonus is that these trails are immaculatly maintained (so don't mess 'em up!) and the whole reserve is one of the more beautiful places to mountain bike (this ain't no powerline run), especially in mid october. Be prepared to run into a lot of walkers (especially families and young couples)so keep your eyes focused down the trail. If you really want to climb to the point of anerobic agony (I realize that masochism runs rampant in this sport) ride the other side of Yokun Ridge (north of Reservoir Rd) up to the radio Tower and even all the way to Bosquet Ski area (and downhill it!). Also, check out the trails south of Olivia's Overlook towards Stockbridge Mountain, They get pretty rugged. Have fun! Recommended Route: You can (and should) pick up a good Topo map of the Yokun Ridge and Kennedy park trails at any Bike/outdoor shop in the area. Usually the guys inside can point out great routes to take (and are happy to do so). Best place to start is from the parking lot of the Arcadia Shop on Rte Seven south in Lenox. Head out of the North end of the lot onto the Kennedy Park trail. Keeping to your right (generally) work your way to Reservoir rd. When you get to the rd, go right and climb up to hills. Keep going to your second gated trail entrance on the left (about .8 miles) which is just before a dirt parking area also on the left. Take this trail, which becomes a wonderful singletrack, rocky climber) up to the top...stopping to check out an unbelievable overlook off to you left about 3/4 of the way up). At the top make a left onto the Double track (Burbank) trail and at your next fork make another left. You'll wiz down a rocky doubletrack and when it levels out a bit start looking for a little singletrack trail that heads off sharply to the left...get on it and enjoy the ride. Eventually you'll end up on the Richmond/Lenox Rd or a Dirt Rd depending on whether or not you see the turn off, either way turn right and consult your map for how to get on the Burbak Trail (both side of the loop have their benefits...and both involve some climbing and rocks). At the top look to go back down the trail you intially climbed up and then work your way back into Kennedy park. There's more stuff (as you can see from the map) on the other side of reservoir rd, most notably the doubletrack climb up Lenox Mountain...which is more of a grind than a good time, but that's just an opinion. Other recommended trails in the same area: Pittsfield State Forest (The Good stuff secreted off of Potter Mt. Rd and tHe North End of The Taconic Skyline Trail). Also, check out the Trails in Stephentown, NY around the Cherry Plain State Forest and Lake.
