Wompatuck State Park

Not too difficult, some technical sections. Nice wooded area, VERY clearly marked trails, and very hard to get lost. Lots of fire roads provide an easy way back if you do get turned around. There are also campsites you can use to make it into a nice weekend. Very close to boston (~30min) make it a great day trip too. Nothing really advanced, but a great mix of easy to intermediate trail riding. Very fun. Great place to take someone to introduce them to mountain biking.

Summary:
Great single track .. a bit wet in the spring...
Make sure you grab a map~~ at the Rangers Station or in any of the kiosks that you will see at any of the trial heads.
Lots of parking and a busy place!
Make sure you climb Prospect Hill.. there are 3 routes down.. The two trails at the top near the bench to the right will get your pulse up!
Lots of roots and rocks ...just a fun place to ride. Well suited for group rides.
The park trails are well marked with numbers.. not names .. and the map is new and up to date. The park is clean and well maintained due to the awesome work of Ranger Stever Gammon.

Recommended Route:
Take Route 3 to 228 Hingham . South Shore in Ma.
Follow the signs to Womputuck State Park.
Good places to eat in the area after a ride.
Try the Liberty Grill located in histoic Hingham Harbor.. Great bar pizza!

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Whitney Thayer in Cohasset on Route 3a
You can actually get there riding through Womputuck... better know as Wompy by the frequent users.

Summary:
Something for all except the extreme freerider or downhiller-and even they can have a good time. My friend brings his Big Hit here on occasion. There is a playground with some steep drops that's mildly hidden. It's not far from the main road closer to HQThere's too much to cover in one day. Lots of fast and technical riding. Well marked too-if you have a map. I love this place. I ride here until the snow is too deep.

Recommended Route:
Explore.

Summary:
well marked, great woodsy scenery with ponds, paved trails, sleazy rock gardens, some big drops, brutal single track, and some man-made jibbin' stashes (for you to find).

Recommended Route:
if your in south weymouth, jackson square area, go straight past all the intersections (going towards hingham), keep strait past the CVS on the left, and don't turn for a few miles until the wompatuck sign on the right.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
there is tons of single track in Hingham, but its kinda hidden. Try behind plymouth river school, Cranberry Pond, and Moore Brewer. Many are actually connected...be creative.

Summary:
hey reganized. i have been riding here forever, and recently started back again. i forgot what a good time it can be. little of everything. i wish there was a little more in the freeride department, but the boards and steep hills can be fun. All riders will find something in their ability.

Recommended Route:
Its down past the High school from me. Easy to get to from the highway.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
i posted this review here since the other review thread is spelled wrong. Blue Hills is fun, looking fwd to Vietnam.
