Weekend Warrior Summary: The part of Willard Brook I explored was more of the campground area. Branchin out form that was tough to find any real good mountain biking trails. Fooled around in the river which was lots of fun, but without a map it was tough to find anything real good to ride on. Lots of roots and rocks, but if you got past that not too bad. Not sure I'll go back though. Other recommended trails in the same area: Leominster State Forest

, from Boston, MA Summary: I've ridden here once - about an 8 mile ride. I will say that these trails do not seem to get much use (granted we rode there in the first week of January, but there was still no snow!) Plenty of logs to jump, but relatively few chainring marks. This is a good intermediate ride with more-technhical areas to challenge intermediate/advanced, and also plenty of wide XC trails for novice/intermediate. This would be a great XC mtb training course for racers. The "technical" sections are mostly on the hiking trails (dotted lines on the DEM map). These contain plenty of rocks that you need to ride over or navigate around. Nothing too crazy. There are some good hills, but they are mostly on the fire roads, which make for great downhill bombing runs. Recommended Route: From the parking lot on New Fitchburg road, ride over the small bridge (there's a metal gate), into the field. Head over to the far/right side of the field and find the XC skiing trail... this is the entrance to the best trails, north and west of the Pearl Hill Park parking lot.
