Summary:
trails are VERY chewed up from dirtbikes/quads....also a good portion of the trails are sandy, which makes for a very difficult/ not fun ride....trails seem like they used to be good, but way too chewed up now

Other recommended trails in the same area:
robinson, ashley resivoir, bear hole, holyoke range

Ridden Trail:
Once a week

Reviewed by: Brian , from Westfield, MA

Summary:
There are miles and miles of trails back there (over 60), these trails are almost never used. I ride them at least three times a week and have only seen one other biker in the last two years, watch out for dirt bikes on the weekends though. whenever the trail ends at a road cross and look around on the other side and the trails will continue. There are some real steep hills that i don't think many could ride up, but are great coming back down. a lot of fast twisty singletrack with roots and stuff. also some sandy parts, full suspension and at least 2.1 tires reccomended (full knobbies). also the trail will connect to a cliff in granby ct which has trails up it, agonizing to climb but it can be done. about 350ft in a mile up. email me if you have any questions or want to ride...

Recommended Route:
off shaker road follow train tracks, you can turn off at any number of trails or continue on the tracks all the way to simsbury ct
