This place has been around for ages. It is a mix of abandoned carriage roads and fresh cur single. It is known by many names but was dubbed the Private Reserve (PR) about 5 years ago. There are about 10 miles of the trails that all lead to nowhere and take a long time getting there. The area is small and the most has been made it, in terms of trails. Tight and twisty. Some man mades where necessary but mostly naturals. Great single-speed and XC terrain. Please ride respectfully. Also, avoid constructing new stuff and never cut down or nail to live trees. There is plenty of blow-down and fallen stuff to repair the existing structures if need be (though the elves tend to take care of that). If you are looking to "get somewhere" on your ride, this isn't the place for. The whole point of the area is to get the most out of the least. If you are going to cut or braid the trails, what's the point in riding a bike there at all. Stay home and rest instead.

Summary:
Not bad for a lunch break, I spent an hour or so bombing around the switchbacks and up downs. Definately built by elves. Nothing technical that I found although my first (and only) elf bridge crossing resulted in a big endo into mud and rocks. Bridges are slippery (this time of year at least) and in disrepair and are best avoided.

Recommended Route:
Park at powerlines in Lexington off Mountain road. Ride up lines and go left.

Summary:
Rode this stuff last night and it's in really good shape given the rain lately. The paint-ball rats have been going mad dragging junk into the woods so the place looks like the presidential palace in Bagdad. Punch 'n Pie are both still solid as is the Trestle, though the exit has a missing/broken slat or two. Some of the bridges have taken a beating as well. Not bad though.

Recommended Route:
Park in town and ride in at the Powerlines from Lex. Outpowerlines to Peterbilt around by RT3/128 and down FairGame. Through the swamp and into the body of the system.
