Cross Country Rider Summary: I ride here almost every single day and the riding is outstanding.
At the moment though, you really need someone to show you where the best trails are so if you come to the area, drop me an email and if I can, I'll show you around. Easiest way to contact me is to go to www.berkshiresports.org and click on contact us (which would be me).
Berkshire NEMBA is becoming active again in the area and we're going to be doing a lot of work over the next few years and this situation should become much better.

Cross Country Rider Summary: Find your self on Churchhill road in pittsfield heading toward pittsfield state forest. Take Cascade st. and hop on the main road running through the park. Get up and out of your seat cause you have a nice paved incline for a mile or two. Once you get to the top, take a breath and look out over the nice scenic views. Start as though you are going to head down the paved road home and take your first right onto the trail. It is a great mix of climbs and downhills, lotsa dried stream bed in the summer, but you may be pedaling through some water in the spring. Unfortunately, some of this trails begining has been used by ATV's, so it can be fairly torn up in spots. This trail should take an hour or two and it will bring you to Hancock Shaker Village on RTE 20. It is a great ride for an intermediate, or a novice with good breaks. I wouldn't reccomend it for anyone without FS or else your hands aregoing to go numb (alot of the downhill is stream bed), or a patch kit. I have flatted a few times over the years.

Racer Summary: this is true forest riding at its best.whatever you want, except eastern mass rock gardens, this place will have it.there can be lot's of climbing if you want.I'm talking like 30+(?) minutes going up to top of jiminy peak.then killer trails back down.
the only complaint is it's hard to find the trails(they're kinda hidden for their protection). but I've been going to Pedros festivals to get the key and I've been let in the kingdom.
just bring supplies and ride til ya drop. I'm getting better at finding my way out. Recommended Route: I'm still working diligently on it. Other recommended trails in the same area: the trails right at Pedros location:Brodie mountain xc sking area.hard to get lost.

, from Ohio Summary: Well, there are alot of trails to choose from and you can get lost very easily, so bomb them all. The trails range from fireroads that are impossible to some relaxing single trek. I went naked and got scratched by a pricker bush :] Anyway, just tell them Sir Slams sent you. Recommended Route: I challenge anyone with a sausage to climb the Howee Trail, I promise you ain't got what it takes.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Mt. Greylock, good luck loser
