, from Breck, CO Summary: I grew up in the area and used to ride these trails all the time. This is where, in the late 80's and early 90's, I learned to ride. The trails in this area offer fun, technical, rocky-at-times riding with great views of the Pioneer Valley from up on the ridgeline. Although I no longer live in Mass, I visit a least once a year and was stunned on a recent hike in the area(12-2002)to see the entire system of trails now closed to bikes. What a waste. It looks like biking on Mt. Tom--like skiing--is now history. While no longer legal, these trails still exist and offer good(three tire rated)riding to the fat-tired outlaw. Recommended Route: M&M Trail, old Mt. Tom ski runs--It now appears that this area is off limits to mt. bikes. Other recommended trails in the same area: Henhawk Trail, Mt. Toby, DAR State park

, from Williamsburg Summary: These trails used to be cool you could get into quite a groove but nowadays between all the construction going on back there and the weekly MTB races which have put quite alot of stress on the trails it has gotten quite bad. The riding is techinical in some places along the river but it isn't going to last forever in just 3 years I have seen it get worse in there. Recommended Route: Go behind Easthampton high school to the fields and Nonotuck park is right behind there. From there just bike whereever the trails aren't very long. Other recommended trails in the same area: Power Lines/Amethyst Brook (great!)
