Howe State Park
2 reviews

ATV and fire roads. The trail goes right through the Spencer landfill, brings you into the main part of Howe State Park. From there you get on some fire roads which give you a long series of climbs until you reach Rte 31. After crossing Rte 31, the trail brings you down a section of pipeline and eventually picks up part of the midstate trail. From there you go through a nice section of singletrack which brings you to a killer climb to the top of the hill behind David Prouty High School. A good all around ride with long climbs early to get your legs burning. The only bummer is you have to travel basically the same route back as you take out.

Summary:
i have been riding this trail for awhile now so it suits me cause me and my firends no where all the good trails r. There is this one trail that will scare the sht out of u. It is the scethciest thing. the trail is like a foot wide and ur 1 foot away from a river. theres this little downhill that if u use ur brakes on u slide and come close to falling in water.

Recommended Route:
coming out of main entrace, go right out of lot, then take next right. right b4 the tunnel, there is a trail to ur right. take it and stay to the left. at end u will come out to Depot Trail which is this wide gravel trail. head bakc up the trail u came from and take first left and follow back to main lot.

Summary:
Happened upon this park by accident and figured we'd give it a try. We parked at the main entrance and spent about 2 hours trying to find a decent trail. Most everywhere out here that we went was torn up by quads/dirtbikes. Loose sand and rocks and trails that end abruptly. Pretty crummy.
