Technical singletrack, hilly , good climbs,
Outstanding views of Pioneer valley. Other trails are
Armageddon, White Lightning, Trolley trail, Upper Yeti,
Fraidey Kat, Widow maker, Sidewinder, Chumba Wumba, Pipeline, Emerald Shamrock,
I91 north to Holyoke, take Ingleside exit, take left at end of ramp, follow to first light, take a right.
follow for 1 mile. At the 711 take a left on Rt 202
park at Ashley reservoir. The trailhead is across the
street on left 300 yards at end of guardrail. This is pipeline trail.
Summary: this is no place for a newbie unless you go the power line route .once you get some skill and some good stamina this is one hell of a place to ride. Bring lots of deet Misquetoe heaven in some spots.

Ridden Trail: Once a month

Summary: The trails are epic and worthy of the ride to get there. Super technical and challenging, a narrow board bridge, Hellgate has some awesome downs and climbs. All trails seem to interconnect so its hard to get lost. There was one trail with a really cool overlook view of a neighboring town. The widowmaker is the steepest hill Ive ever done, very rocky and loose terrain. Its a real wheel bender.
Recommended Route: The entrance near the reservoir is tricky to find. The hellgate trail was awesome. Its a long slow climb with a great descent. A real treat for any biker. The first time I entered near a yellow gate which was wrong, the real entrance is a few hundred yards to the left at the end of the guardrail. Once I found the pipeline, the other trails are easy to find.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Upper Yeti , Armageddon on the south side of Rt 202 in the Bearhole area. Awesome ride. We rode all day and never got bored with the terrain. Epic New England riding.
