Every few months

Summary:
I have included a seperate section because it is part of the loop I have ridden on and off since 1990 I make it a point to ride it whenever I visit my parents (he biggest stint of riding was summer 1996 when I rode it every other day for 3 months). It is always enjoyable. The Northbridge section is rough; I might call it freeride singletrack. There are lots (lots) of rocks, virtually a slalom course to find a line at speed if you are on a hardtail. A couple of little 2' drops and lots of wonderful kicker rocks for little bits of air add some smiles. I would not consider this a beginner trail. (note: some dirt bikers in area, so listen up and avoid area during deer season!). As for the Goat Hill section, this trail is fun! It is fast and, while not super technical, is no bike path; it gets harder and more fun the faster you go. I think that is the beauty of this trail, beginers can learn how to pick a good line without intimidation and vetrans can sprint and hop to their heart's content without becoming too bored. (note: There are occasionally walkers on the trail on nice weekends, so be careful around the curves) distance from top of Hill St. to Tri-River is a little over 7 miles. Hope to see you out there! (Always looking for short notice riding partners, so feel free to email me) (I often continue up Hartford ave to that little park on the left, the trails back there lead to Lookout Rock. I don't know the name of the park, so since I can't give good directins, it isn't part of the review)

Recommended Route:
Super-secret, personal Northbridge/Uxbridge run: I start at the top of Hill St. and scream down to Church St. Just to the East of the Buma Funeral Home is a little hidden access road to an old substation. Follow the trail nearby. It twists and turns along the powerlines then goes into the woods dropping down to Providence Rd. just across from the Sewage plant. There is a little trail right across the road, follow it and then go through the sewage plant main gate (I asked permission, and they were quite friendly). Go left past main buildings, take right, take next available left (signs for brush disposal). Follow dirt road, go right when road turns. follow road until it turns left, the trail will be at the apex of the turn. Follow trail.Take right at first 'Y' on trail. exit at Tri-River Med Center. repeat as necessary.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
personally, I enjoy the offshoots of the Goat Hill Trail, and there are a few 'hidden' trails that connect to the main. As far as the Northbridge section, I avoid the offshoots, they are used mainly by dirtbikers and high shcool partiers.

Summary:
Both sides of the river are mostly flat but very rooty,
with 4 bridges to cross on the Goat Hill side.A nice ride by the river and old canal locks. They used to bring up goods from Providence through this area and on to worcester.Goat Hill is about a 300 foot climb with the aewsone reward of a down hill run.Watch out for the
rock jump.:-) Nice area, not very technical but a nice place to get away from it all with some nice views.

Recommended Route:
I start at the Wesat Hill Dam and do that 5 mile loop
then connect it to Lookout Rock and down to the Blackstone River and on to the other side were Goat Hill is.This is a 10 mile loop.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
West Hill Dam,Upton State forest,Vietnam
