Cross Country Rider Summary: first off sorry guys (those who wrote prior reviews) there is actually alot of trails and riding in this area. Oh Yeah there is not 3 miles of downhill apparentlty they had there heads so far up there #ss to have any Idea whatsoever/ maybe 1/2 mile Recommended Route: park at the gate on stage road in S. Deerfield mass and head up the pocumtuck trail and take your first right onto Clapp's pond trail (fast downhill singletrack) once at the bottom you will have a choice of left or right, take the right this brings you around clapp pond, cross the stream, there used to be a bridge, and work your way to the powerlines AKA (STAIRMASATER) now if you enjoy climbing-up-up-up, once to the toptake a right on some grassy doubletrack and over past the cell tower go another 100 ft and check out the view of deerfield from here. Now back on the dirt rd go right, and down and from there go straight into the woods on the blue dot Pocumtuck trail until you come to a trail crossing take a right this is the out and back trail stay on main trail until it dumps you onto a dirt rd go right and through the gate take the road up to next gate on left and go through and agian start climbing up to the top now you are back at the cell toweres, go back through the woods and over to the power lines, go straight across power lines and follow this trail Pocumtuck trail back to gate where you parked.
NOTE: this is only small piece of trail system in this area (much much more)
