Do Not Miss These Trails While On Cape Cod the two single track trails you come to just before the route 6 fence are sweet and tight! take the first one on the left and you will eventually come out on the second one one the left. this is the preferred direction with best downhill/uphill combinations. you will ride for miles and miles, just when you think you'll never come out is when you finally exit out of this loop keep heading straight across the fire road to another sweet single track loop which takes you to a sweet pond view and then back to where you started at the fire road by route 6. these are some of the best trails i have ridden while on vacation on cape cod. the best part is that you know where your going to come out and there are no intersecting trails to get lost on. you want more? go across route 6 to access miles more of single track that runs along the highway in the woods. if you go to the east you'll come out in orleans and if you go to west you'll come to route 124 exit 10 and beyond but i turned around here. i liked the trails to the west better. someone should adopt this spot and mark the loop so everyone only travels in one direction. when you first come in and figure out the mileage it looks like someone made these trails with a dirt bike and they are too skinny to get wrecked by ATVs....save your cape cod trails and don't let them knock down anymore forests to build houses.

Trail Directions
From Route 6 take exit 11 which is route 137 and head north. make a right onto Freemans Way. Right before you cross over route 6 again there is the Freemans Way Athletic Fields on the left. Park here. by the way, you can access the nickerson park trails from here also by going to the left side of the soccer field and heading into the single track or to the left of the baseball field and heading up the gravel road, single track at the end to the right and left 50 feet. but the brewster woods trails are a ride back out on freemans way. ride back north 1/4 mile or so to second fenced dirt trail head (first one is paved fenced road do not take this one) make a left onto this wide dirt road. you will pass a trail coming in on right but continue straight as this just heads into side street. you'll pass another trail on your right but continue on the dirt road for now as this eventually leads to a single track alternative to this forest road, but too complicated to describe here, but definitlely check it out at a later date. don't make any turns on the fire roads you come to for now. just as you get to route 6 you will notice two single track trails on the left and two single track trails to the right.

Summary:
The directions already listed to this trail are spot on. The entire loop is about 7 or 8 miles. It is used by motocross types so some of the trail is rutted out, but still ridable. Not very technical, although a few of the climbs are challenging. It makes a nice loop though and is worth riding if you are in the Nickerson State Park area. There are way better options for riding if you are on Cape Cod though. Trail of tears in Barnstable or Otis in Falmouth are about the best the Cape has to offer. Nickerson is nice, but really hard to find the good trails without a guide.

Recommended Route:
Same as already listed.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Willow Street, Trail of Tears, Otis, Nickerson.

Summary:
Although very confusing, the above directions are dead on. This weekend (3/7) was my first time on this trail. It is in great shape for this time of year and the riding was great for all skill levels. I was not able to explore the entire trail, but what I did ride had a bit of everything. From great decents to tough inclines, this was a great trail to begin the season with. Definately worth checking out if your on the cape, you wont find much better in the area.

Once a year

Summary:
when you first come onto the dirt road trail from freemans way after the second downhill you'll come to a second trail coming in on the right. this goes out to a sandy fire road and then go left 20 yards and take the single track on your left. this is a single track alternative to the dirt road trail. eventually you'll come to a grassy old fire road on the left fork. take this and it takes you back on the dirt road trail to route 6 and the single track. if you continue on to the right on the single track alternative route you will go on some really cool tight trails which comes out to an atv riding area but go across this sandy trail and into the unknown. or you can just follow the directions above and explore the rest of this area later.

Recommended Route:
print out the complicated directions above. from this location you can access the trails in the brewster forest, nickerson state park and the route 6 renegade trails

Other recommended trails in the same area:
route 6, trail of tears, ruth pond area of nickerson state park.
