A VERY HILLY AND TECHNICAL RIDE. FULL SUSPENSION IS A PLUS. THE WATERFALL AT THE END IS AWESOME, A STEEP HILL OF LOOSE ROCK WHICH MAKES YOU APPRECIATE YOUR HEALTH INSURANCE. THE RIDE PASSES 2 RESERVOIRS TO THE SUMMIT WHICH HAS A VIEW OF SURROUNDING TOWNS AND BARNES AIRPORT. A RIPPING RIDE

Summary:
It's kind of funny to read the "Don't ride hear ooooohh" reviews... Funny some poeple who don't want others to know about a place because they think it will become like Disney World or something... Anyway...

There is something for everyone. MAke it as hard or easy as you want. You can ride the trails around the reservoir if you like or hop into the trails opposite RT 202 at the base of the hills. Many places to go in. There you can find hard or easy climbs to the top of the ridge. Nice views of Barnes Airport and the valley. Some awesomes downs as you head south on the ridge past the towers just look for another trial head to the left about a third of the way down the fire road. Caution.. there is a couple of forks in the trail that are confusing. If you make to the bottom of the "stairway" then it's a moderate paved/dirt road ride back to the 'hoods of Westside. Check out Quarry Road off Prospect (K&M Electronics). Some parking at the end with little interference.

Enjoy.

Ignore the voodoo sayers here..

Recommended Route:
Off Prospect Road, West Springfield... You CAN park at K&m Electroics. No one cares. You could park a thousand cars ther without a problem.. pleeezzzee.. Go away Evil caution man... Or go up to Quarry and go to the end. There's a dirt area there.. Many more places like the reservoirs parking areas.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Anything on the Holyoke Range. MT Tom is an awesome (watch out for RANGERS!!! RANGERS!!!) place to ride.. And the Rangers don't care as long as you are being responsible.

Summary:
The ride along the ridge is very technical and fun. There is a huge area of new single track near the watershed area in West Springfield just south of the turnpike on Morgan road.

Recommended Route:
The best parking is next to Ashley reservoir on rt 202. Go up the trap rock hill past Mcclean res and follow the ridgeline south for serious trails.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Hellgate, Grinch, Pipeline, Whitelightning, Husker Du Husker Dont,
Bear Claw, Lower Yeti, Fraidey Kat, Widowmaker

Summary:
Park at Ashley reservoir off Rt 202 in Holyoke. Enter the reservoir and bear left. At the black gate ride up the hill towards the water tanks and bear left.
The entrance to the trail is at the far side of Mclean
reservoir and is marked by a series of large boulders.
Have fun, a must ride location.

Recommended Route:
Even though the K&M entrance is gone there are many Alternate entrances into this area exist. There is safe parking at Ashley reservoir and no one will search your car. Dont be so paranoid...

Summary:
You are at risk of being towed and/or having you vehicle searched by parking at K&M. Not only that, the trail from the water tank no longer exists. About 300 yards into the woods, a new development has been built over and through the trail land. I wasted precious Sunday morning time by going here.

Recommended Route:
Do not go here!
