Cross Country Rider Summary: These trails are really fun to cruise. Most the up hills are not to hard, lots of fun cruising with some easy obstacles. All of these trails were fun cruisers. I had a blast. Recommended Route: I really do not know my way around, but I would start near the gun road bridge and ride on that side of the river. This side proably has about 20 miles of trails. The other side is to hard or not that well kept. Other recommended trails in the same area: Schafer farms trails,

Cross Country Rider Summary: About 25 miles of trail with a little bit of everything here. Several trails are marked, as well as a number of unmarked trails. A map of the trails can be found at www.gpstrailsource.com. Nice hills and downhills with very little flat trails. Trails can get technical in some areas. The Howard County side towards Landing road tend to be easier. More trails on the Howard County side. More difficult trails on Baltimore County side. Stay away from the trails when it rains or when there is snow on the ground. Stays muddy for days it seems. Used to riding Loch Raven and I can ride Loch Raven usually the day after a hard rain. Definitely not true here. Trails are also very crowded during the weekend and peak times, usually during rush hour during the week. Recommended Route: usually park at the Park and Ride off of I195. Ride the Purple trail down to the camp site and go up cardiac.Usually follow the route to CCBC and can go many ways from there. Go across swinging bridge and can make multiple loops from there. Other recommended trails in the same area: Loch Raven, Rosaryville, White Clay

Weekend Warrior Summary: Lots of fun stuff. This is the only place I have been biking. I cant review it as a comparison. But it still has lots of rock gardens and logs. You can bomb down hills and go slow with control and still have a blast. It has great up hill to burn the legs.
You can get scars and abs. Either way the chicks will dig you. Recommended Route: This year there seem to be a number of new trails. I go up to the Landing rd Entrance and ride down the yellow trail to the left, Take the blue trail till you get to just before the falls and go up hill on Blue to the road by the bathrooms up to orange on the road to the white trail to the intersection of purple, white, orange, and yellow then go around the purple trail onto the yellow trail, and some times I do the red trail.
I am not sure if the white trail is new or not. But this is my second year riding. Last year I had a basic basic basic trek. It lasted all of a month. It is great. Go and have a blast

Weekend Warrior Summary: The best all-around trail riding in the area. Something for all skill levels and opportunities to grow skills. The scenery is beautiful; typography makes for an excellent workout. Lots of fun ... can be intense or relaxing, which ever you choose. Only two complaints: (1) too crowded on nice weekends and (2) stay away few days after a good rain. So, grab what ever trail-ready bike you can and get out there. Just remember, share the trails nicely with hikers and horses, these trails are great for those activities also!!! Recommended Route: Quick ride - morning choice trail. Mix-up the routes anyway you like, they're all connected one way or the other. Other recommended trails in the same area: None. Gambrells is the closest I've found that's better than Avalon.
