A fairly small area with trails in the woods and more open, grassy terrain in the vicinity of the disc golf course. The trails in the woods are the best. Many different types of terrain, ranging from a very rooty section, to 3 or 4 stream crossings. Somewhat hilly, but no real killers. Lots of failry gentle ups and downs on the main trails, although some of the interconnecting trails are wicked. There is also a trail that goes into the Avalon section of Patapsco. This trail features several logs and stream crossings.

Trail Directions	Take Rt 29 to Rt 100 East, take Rt 103 exit and turn left at the first mini traffic circle. Turn left at first light, right onto Montgomery Rd at the second. Continue on Montgomery and Blackburn Park will be on the left, behind Balckburn elementary school.

It gives me about 30 minutes of easy riding before crossing Landing Rd and entering Avalon at rockburn branch trail. Mostly hard pack with some roots. There's really no technical areas or hills so you can really get a good warmup. This is also a great place to take beginers. There's plenty of parking and no fee to enter so this is a good spot to start group rides. Other recommended trails in the same area: Avalon, McKeldin, Loch Raven and for the hardcore Gambrills in Fredneck Would you like to Comment? I always hit this trail first when the warm weather hits. Its a good prelude before I start ridin' patapsco. Also They have great races here several time a year. The Fathers Day Frenzy is the one I always enter. Other recommended trails in the same area: Since I moved to Eldersburg, I'm 15 minutes from the Mckelden area of Patapsco. Recommended Route: 100 to 103 meadowridge to right on brightfield to left on montgomery rd. to left at rockburn elem. school.
