Savage Mill Trail
3 reviews
 3.33 of 5

Small trail, under two miles ( it splits at the end and you can go a lot further back towards some trails by a highschool ). Mostly flat but nice scenery. There are some other trails on the mill-side of the river that I haven't explored yet. This is a great starter trail for when you have those rookies with you. Bring a swimsuit if you like swimming in rapids.

Summary:
The Historic Mill Trail is a 1.5 mile trail beginning at Bollman Truss Bridge and ending a few hundred feet past the stone dam abutments near the Middle and Little Patuxent rivers. It's mostly flat. If you want a wild ride, check out the Wincopin Neck Trail in Savage Park.

Recommended Route:
Park in the Savage Mill parking lot. The trail is on the other side of the river.

Summary:
This trail is pretty but not very challanging. It's short and is better suited for joggers or hikers. Savage Park was a much better ride.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Savage Park is a better choice for serious MTBers if you want something close by.
