Summary:
I grew up exploring this wooland area and that is all that is it really good for, exploring. It is not particularly the best place to Mt. Bike considering what is around the area. The place is sandy and covers a large area between the road and the tracks(amtrak). You could easily get lost back there but it makes for a fun time if you have a group of trail blazin begginer to imtermediate riders. Just watch out for the dirtbikes and atv's. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to visit this place considering the other areas which are nearby, but I guess it has some fun stuff to offer. If you feel like a long ride, these trails can take you out to the Fort Meade base and even as far as Fran Uhler Nature Area which is listed in another trail review. The key to finding these areas is locating and riding along the Amtrak. If you cross over at a certain point it will take you onto a network of trails and roads toward the backside of the base. Riding farther down the tracks will get you all the way to Bowie State and the nature area behind it. Like I said ealier, you need a good half day and the urge to explore.

Recommended Route:
There is no route, just park and hit the trails. A good place to start is at the lake parking lot.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Anything at Patapsco! If you like this type of thing,(exploring backwoods) I would suggest checking out the trails near Bowie State(Fran Uhler).

Summary:
My friend Nate and i don't ride at paxtunet to much any more because we found out that all the crazy downhills became even more crazy and the same happend to the good downhills. The place also is really sandy and is infested with dirt bikers and 4wheelers. I do not recomend this park

Summary:
Really sandy! There are a lot of crazy descents and some less crazy ones. If you go after it rains, be prepared for a lot of clay in some places! It's lacking in technical descents though. A disadvantage is that dirt bikers come back there sometimes.
One of the fiels has a bunch of wierd colored sand. Psychadelic.

Recommended Route:
Just go back and ride around. Everything leads back in a circle, so it's hard to get lost.

Arundel High School
