Cross Country Rider Summary: Some of the best riding in the state, if you know where to go! Most riders
don't talk about where all the trails are so we can keep the trails to ourselves. unfortunately some of the trails are now growing over and need more traffic. Nice single track with good climbs and descends to enjoy. Recommended Route: Enter park on the switchback trail (white) near Marriotsville Rd and Marriotsville Rd No.2 and stay to the right. Keep to the right and stay on the white trail and you will come to a steep short climb,(most people push)keep going and cross the paved rd at the restrooms. Not too much further there will be a fun luvin short steep downhill, at the bottom is where you want to cross the river. Watch for the ponies! enjoy some single track and after that a nice uphill, at the top most riders go left and it will eventually take you back to the other side of the park after a great technical downhill and river crossing. There are several trails across the river, go explore!........ Most do the more trails in the park before crossing the river. Other recommended trails in the same area: Avolon

Cross Country Rider Summary: I have been across the river once, and I must say I did not seeanything special. Maybe I went the wrong way - straight up th hill ???, after that was nothing else. Actually very borin, and most of the trails are ruined due to the heavy horse-back riding.
On the main park side, thatmorning plantation trail coonection is a killer. both fun either up or dowhill Recommended Route: Oh well, if someone other than me could be a litle more descriptive about which way to go after you croos the river, that would be usefull to everyone Other recommended trails in the same area: Avalon trails -Patasco

Weekend Warrior Summary: I don't care what anyone thinks of this trail. It's one of the worst trails in the Baltimore area. There is always little kids, horses and hikers all over the place. You're better off rollerblading in the parking lot. Has anyone ever been in line of fire? If you've ridden here you have. The gun range is right across the street! All it would take is a stray bullit to ruin any small chance of a fun afternoon. Of course I'm saying all this because I want the trails to myself! It's a great spot. Recommended Route: Stay off the singletrack Other recommended trails in the same area: anywhere besides here or avalon

Weekend Warrior Summary: This trail system constantly gets a bad rap from people who have never ridden the trails on the other side of the river. While there are no highly technical sections there is a lot to see and many trails to explorer. Most notable is the old Nike missile site, what look like mine shafts, a water filled Rock Query and the Job Corp building with lots of crack baggies around it. Matter of fact the only bad ride I’ve had at McKeldin is when the Job Corp kids were swimming in the Rock Query and smoking dope along the trails. Both river crossings will require you forge at least a one foot of water and forget riding this trail if has rained lately. Recommended Route: Park in the Parking lot next to the railroad tracks, follow the road and cross the bridge. The trail head will be on your right. Take the trail to your left and follow to the main parking area. Follow the road to the Basketball court and take the gravel trail to the left. Pass the rock piles and take the trail to your left. Follow this trail to the trail that runs parallel to the river and make another left. Just before the trail turns to foot traffic only make a right and cross the river. Follow the trails on this side of the river in a clockwise direction making a large U shape. You will then cross back over the a few miles from were you started. This trip should take about 2.5 hours. Other recommended trails in the same area: Avalon, Gambrils

Cross Country Rider Summary: This is a great weekday cutting out of work early ride. If you ride on the weekends you have to wrroy about the hikers and kids on the trails. I enjoy the white Loop with the purple loop giving you a short but fun downhill. I have been looking for the trails across the river, I have also taken the train tracks but still can not find them. Any better directions anyone? All in all this a good ride to enjoy for a few hours.
