Summary:
park at the Deep Creek Lake State Park campground office parking lot. head up the road like you are going into the campground but insted of turning left to got into the campground go straight ahead to the sign that has all of the different trails written on it. the meadow mountian trail goes striaght ahead for about a tenth of a mile then it turns off to the left. (trail is blazed white.) after making the left turn you run on some what of rolling terrian for about 3/4ths of a mile up behind the campground. after 3/4ths of a mile you start to have some serious up hill for about a half mile where you go around a hair pin right turn. after the turn you will see the back of a road sign that is for coming down the trail and it says sharp left turn (the sign is filled with bullet holes). after the hair pin turn you have steep up hill for about another quater mile. the steep uphill ends at the junction of meadow mountian trail and the brant mine trail (blazed red). after the junction you are almost on the top of the mountain. your go about a third of a mile from the brant mine trail junction to some towers (cell, microwave, and a fire tower). you should stop at the junctin where there is a fire rad going off to your left and a white trail system sign on a 4" square wooden post. from here you can either turn around and go back down the meadow mountain trail or (i prefer) go down the fire road to your left. the fire road has no blazes but you cant get lost on it. from the campgroundd it is 2.03 miles to the top of the mountian to the junction with the fire road. if you take the fire road you go about 2.5 miles down to state park road. the trail doesnt look steep but i was screaming when i came down the fire roadd. i averaged abut 23mph the whole way down. once oyu get to state park road you want to make a left and head back towards the state park. from there to the state park is about 2 miles along the road, but the road has very little traffic.

Recommended Route:
meadow mountain trail (blazed white) to the fire road or turn around and go back down the meadow mountain trail.

Meadow Mountain Trail-One section with rail road ties which is an interesting ride, very bumpy, the rest is pretty simple, basic uphill and downhill, nothing very technical
Indian Turnip Trail-My personal favorite, many big trees to jump, VERY rocky, most of the trail you don't even touch dirt, its mainly rocks!

Recommended Route:
Many different choices, all come down to two main trails....Indian Turnip Trail(Advanced) and Meadow Mountain Trail(fairly simple, a lot of uphill)

Summary:
Start ride at bridge. Be prepared for long up hill climb. Follow Meadow Mountain trail until intersection marking at Indian Turnip Trail. (This is a challenging rocky descent). At next intersection, turn right and them make your first left. This trail weaves behind the campsites in the state park. (This is an easy section) After passing camper sites, cross over a parking area. (Cabins are located to your right)Trail proceeds up a short steep gravel enbankment. Follow trail to the end, crossing thru at least 2 intersections, passing Brant Mine Trail (Brant Mine is rocky and technical). At the end trails curves around to the right and begins another long uphill climb. Following this trail straight to the top and taking the second trail on your left will put you back on the Meadow Mountain Trail and bring you out at the Fire Tower Intersection. Pass fire tower and continue on Meadow Mountain Trail across 'natures boardwalk'. You will come to the Indian Turnip Trail Sign again. You have made a hell of a loop. It is a blast riding down Meadow Mountain back to your vehicle. A down hill thrill well earned after 2 massive climbs.

Recommended Route:
From 219 travel east on Glendale Rd. (pass the state park sign) Travel on Glendale Road and take 1st left after North Glade.(North Glade is on the right). Proceed on gravel road until you get to bridge. Parking area on the right. This is state property.
