, from Wheaton Summary: The stuff around the Hard Rock trail and Cabin Branch trail is all really pretty easy; most of it can barely be called singletrack. Good place to take beginners for first taste of actual trails. There is some harder stuff in another section of the park. It's kinda hard to find. From the boat center/main parking area, go back out the entrance road and take a left on the road that crosses the lake. Follow until you get to a main road (either CLarksburg or W Old Baltimore, can't remember. Follow for a bit then look for trail heads on your left. There's some real steep stuff back in there, lots of fun, but this section is pretty small. The grassy doubletrack stuff in the far reaches of this section isn't much fun either. The whole park is real pretty tho. Recommended Route: Look for the hard hidden stuff on the other side of West Old Baltimore Road. Other recommended trails in the same area: Shaeffer, Seneca, or go NW for hardcore at Gambrill and the shed.

, from Germantown Summary: I make a regular (3-4 weeks) loop through my neighborhood and pick up large pieces of the Black Hill Trails, they are easily accessible through the Waters Landing subdivision. For an easy "sightseeing" tour, pick up the trail from Wisteria, just past Wanegarten and follow the asphalt trails to where it leads into the park near the park contact station (#1 on the PDF map). From there, pick up of several loops through the official parks and make your way back out to civilization via the trail connector that leads to Crystal Rock Drive. Recommended Route: Cabin Branch, lakeside ashpalt trail Other recommended trails in the same area: C&O Canal

, from Crownsville Summary: Singletrack with small downhills and uphills excep for one steep rutted out downhill. One or two logs to jump over and a cuople 3-4 foot drops. You should check the drops before doing them because sometimes there is a small streem at the bottom of one. (Don't go after it has just rained it gets very muddy in some places). This trail is mostly begginer. P.S. Some people ride dirt bikes back there and don't watch out for bikers, so be careful. Recommended Route: Any route.
