KMD/Waterville Airport Trails

Average Rating:    (3.5 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 2

This is a collection of trails tucked into the woods near the Waterville airport. There is some singletrack and some fireroad going through the wooded hills. When I rode this it was mostly mildly to moderately technical (roots, downed logs, mud, and ruts), and slightly overgrown in spots. There appears to be at least a few miles of trail here. It doesn''t appear to have any long flowing singletrack sections, but it''s something to do when you can''t get out of town.

Trail Directions
On Kennedy Memorial Drive (ME-137), park at Faith Evangelical Church (on the south side of the road--huge church parking lot, can't miss it) and enter the woods at the back left (southeast) corner of the parking lot. There is a fireroad that runs parallel to the woods that eventually leads into the trails.

Summary:
tried this trail from the Faith Evangelical Church parking lot, and it was muddy & overgrown. Several fallen trees along the airport fence made it unrideable.

Recommended Route:
go to Quarry Road Recreation Area instead!

Summary:
CeMeNemba is in the process of building of single track trails in the Airport area. We currently have built a little over 6.5 miles of new trails. You can access them in the very back parking lot of the Inland Hospital to get to the trailhead. Take the Inland loop and you will see the trail branch off to a open area and you will cross a bridge and then follow the double track and start exploring, look for red flags because we have not put up any signage yet. Have fun!!! more to come!
