Bond Brook Trails

The trailhead is at the north end of the Mount Hope cemetery next to the Augusta airport. Take 4th Boulevard to the end, Parking is next to a line of boulders. Go past the boulders and ride to the right up the dirt road and go up the hill halfway and look to the left and you will see an entrance to one of the singletrack trails or you can also start by looking north and you’ll see 2 water towers, follow the fence around to the right and you’ll see the trail on the back side of the tanks.

This is a City of Augusta owned parcel with huge potential. ATVs are not allowed at this time and we are working on repairing damage done by misuse and erosion. Eventually, we hope it to be a perfect blend of many outdoor activities including mountain biking, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing to name a few and for every level from beginner to expert. We have planned the slow coordinated development of trails in different phases. It is located in the city of Augusta between Bond Brook and the Augusta airport within walking or short biking distance to many neighborhoods. Summary:
Easy to find trail, definatly worth exploring. I just got back from doing about six or seven miles checking out all the random turns-offs. the red flags work great up until one point (where the the trails cross the power lines). I live in Belgrade and ride in the area from fairfield to farmingdale every day or every other day. I was surprised how well developed the trail was or atleast packed-down and quick moving. I will be back to ride there again soon.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Devils chair near Thayer hospital/ Colby college in Waterville.

Kennebec Highlands near Blueberry Hill on the Watson Pond road Rome
