Summary:
A long flat dirt road (prone to mud and standing water) runs from the end of the Quarry road under the interstate and back into the woods. Going up the powerline (almost a guaranteed hike-a-bike) leads to a couple of short trails that are overgrown with blackberry canes. A couple of small bridges here suggest past activity, but the trails look pretty unused. Some new home lots may be claiming the area gradually.

Taking the dirt road past the powerline leads to more flat riding. A turnoff leads to a short uphill section that appears to dead end at some rock cliffs.

The dirt road continues past this turnoff, but the trail was completely covered with water today (even with no rain for well over a week), so I didn't go further.

90% of the distance appears to be on the dirt road. The semi-singletrack sections in the woods are very short, and except for dealing with the overgrowth, are not difficult to ride.

Recommended Route:
Take the dirt road in from the barrier at the end of the Quarry Road and look for side trails to explore. There's not much riding here, apparently.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Trails behind Faith Evangelical Church on Kennedy Memorial Drive (near the airport) include a little more singletrack and short climbs and descents.

Summary:
The riding from the top of the steep powerline to the ski lift resembles singletrack, but it is pretty wide and not very technical, and the section is very short. Good view of Colby from the top of the cliffs on this section. The downhill is fun, and worth the hike up the powerline. The rest of the trails are ATV trails, and boring if you're into good singletrack. These trails aren't worth coming to if you have to drive very far, but they're good to have within riding distance of campus and Waterville. Watch out for ATV riders.

Recommended Route:
Quarry Rd. turns into a dirt road, passes under I-95 bridge, soon after take a right up the real steep powerline (its a short section, but you'll be carrying the bike). At the top of the hill take the trail to the left, this section is mostly wide singletrack. After 1/2 mile to 1 mile, you end up in a clearing with short trees and grass, the old Colby ski lift is here. Find the trail going down the hill (on the left). Pretty sweet downhill, more wide singletrack but you can get up some good speed. At the bottom you'll return to the ATV trail, go left to return to Quarry Rd., go right to follow the trail all the way to Fairfield Center.
