Typical Eastern conditions according to weather, well maintained and rideable for beginners, but plenty of technical stuff too. Steep climbs, excellent downhills.
Exit 20 off 95,sign says Freeport/Durham, from the south go right, across the overpass, from the north, turn left, then go left at stop sign. Stay on this road until blinking red light, corner store to you're
left, turn right onto Rte.9,less than 1 mi.,Parking on the left, Camping on the right. 1$ donation per person, honor system if no Rangers present. Camping costs 11$ per night.
Summary: The whole park has great riding conditions pending on the weather and if they keep the trails open. They do close them from time to time to keep the maintained and for when they are really wet they will not get ruined. Overall I love everything about this place, especially the local store just down the street for it. Great place to stop for a after ride bite to get.
Recommended Route: I love the O-Trail pretty technical. That has to be the hardest out of all of them. Most of the other ones have pretty decent amount for hill climbs and little down hills that are fun.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Clifford Park.

Summary: Bradbury mountain is the best MTB place ever. There are Some sick Features on Trails like Reagan and Ginn. There are trails for both Beginners and Experienced riders.I recomend the east side trails for beginners but there is a leg-burning trail on the east called the "O" trail. On the front side of the mountain there are two black diamond trails. You can Bomb down all the way from the summit and hit some sick hucks. The boundry trail is one of my personal fav trails It is very challenging but also very fast. I ride at Bradbury every chance I have, at least once a week, And I promise you will have a great ride. If you are a begginer....be careful. This is the best trail system in New England And Has been the site of many great rides for me.
Recommended Route: do the outer loop.
Other recommended trails in the same area: There are not many other trails in the area. I recommend power lines.

Summary: I went to Bradbury for the first time and simply had one of the best rides ever! Fast and flowy trails make it simply a joy to ride. Not to much climbing involved but every one is rewarded with a nice fast ride down. I plan on going again as soon as possible. I reccomend checking the website for Bradbury Mtn. State park if it has rained a lot because they close trails sometimes. They are well manicured and in great condition for a reason.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Bangor City Forest and orono/Old Town trails

Summary: I just spent a week on vacation at Crescent Lake...about 20 minutes from Bradbury. We rode Bradbury three times. What a great spot. From the "O" trail area in the knights woods section to the trails like fox east, ginn and regan and all that new singletrack just put in...makes for 3 hours of really great and fun riding. Not overly technical...but you need skills to flow. I am from northern nj where we have tons of fantastic technical trails on the local mountains in northern nj and lower hudson valley ny and I have to say that I had a blast up at Bradbury. Many thanks go out to the trail creators and maintaines and rangers at that park. They do a very good job.

Summary: Bradbury Mountain State Park is actually located in Pownal, Maine, just 6 miles from Freeport. The description of the trails says there are 6.5 miles of trails there, but it is more than double that as of November of 2005. The park rangers with help from the local cycling community have been building some sweet singletrack for several years now.
All of the new stuff is accross the street from the mountain itself, beginning near the camping area. Tight, technical, rocky, rooty and occassionally smooth, the trails are probably the best in the southern Maine area. (I'm not saying that just because I helped build some of them either!) Beginners can ride most of it, but intermediates and experts will really love it. There are a few short technical climbs mixed in with the existing snowmobile trails and double track climbs that anyone can enjoy. These lead to switchback descents that flow very well.
New log and elevated wood bridges span some of the worst soft spots and offer a balance challenge to those who care to try. Its not North Shore, but still fun. Its very easy to spend half a day there now if you have the legs and lungs to ride both sides of the mountain. If you ride it all, try reversing your direction and riding them again. Most are fun in either direction and have their own challenges depending on the which way you are headed.
Riding usually starts in May, but some of the singletrack will need to dry out before you can enjoy it. (June usually) The trails on the mountain side and the doubletrack which has been there for years, can be ridden earlier, but its not as challenging technically.
Shameless Plug: the Bradbury Mountain Challenge mountain bike race will be held there June 4th this year. Its part of the Eastern Fat Tire Association's Championship Series and always a lot of fun!
See you on the trails!
Recommended Route: I like the Knights Woods trails and connecting singletrack the best, but you really can't go wrong here.
Other recommended trails in the same area: The river trail in Portland keeps getting better every year and has lots of challenging parts including North Shore style elevated wood sections.
