One paved road, several dirt roads, even more single track. 940 acres of trails, woods, fields, and singletrack available to hiking/biking.
Travel out of searsport on route 1, towards Stockton Springs, no more than 1.5 miles. On your right a ramshackled green building will appear near two seemingly parallel roads perpendicular to route 1. Follow the first road (has yellow diamond shaped Dead-End sign) Follow this road 'til the end of causeway, park at end of causeway near gate. Land is open to public low-impact use, no motor traffic.
Summary: I searched all over the island for the elusive singletrack but I never found anything. Most of the "singletrack" was overgrown or non-existant as the trail would end after about 200 feet. I was able to find one trail but I think I was the first one down it in about 10 years. Could be nice if it was fixed up. The fire road is pretty boring and only leads you to a transmitter tower. I would say that there is about 5 miles of fire roads, and a half mile of trails that lead to the ocean. Pretty disappointing.

Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

Summary: Variety of skill levels, fairly quick singletracks, tons and tons of trails all over island.
Recommended Route: Follow paved road about 200 yds until fire road appears on left, follow fire road approx 1/2 mile up hill. Fairly wide path will open up on left with apple trees and break in rock wall, follow path until opening appears, bear left and follow singletrack down hill along coast line until you return to causeway.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Check it out, virtually free of other riders.
