Summary: These trails are great. Intermediate to advanced single track. Lots of technical rocky climbs and decsents. A couple of small ledge drops. We rode for three hours and did not hit everything. You willl quickly travel off the park map that is at the trail head. We had a GPS and after a couple wrong turns found our way back. There is great riding beyond the boundry. We did not check out the trails across the road, but they were also reccomended. A technical riders paradise.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Backcountry Excersions, ME

Summary: Ridden once, Definitely going back. Me and a buddy headed out here on the main trail (ring loop) to the top some very rock technical riding. I agrees with the earlier comment that this is more of a 4 than a 3 on the cardio work. The ride up is pretty brutal on the legs. The ride down is great, technical quick and some good drops. We were on some tight single track most of the day. On the way down we did end up on a hiking trail and were definitely over matched so we rode back up the paved road to the summit to make another run down. This is a great ride in southern maine though, and really when your there you feel like you are in a much more isolated portion of the white mountains. Hope to get back out and explore further onto the other peaks.
Recommended Route: Ring loop to witch hazel up, and we came back down on the "hair pin turn" to the lower portion of the ring trail.

Summary: If you want directions from the interior of Maine (you never see the bumpah-tah-bumpah Route 1 in the middle of summer--thank you, Jesus!) check out my review in the OTHER Mt. Agamenticus trail listing in the Maine list.

Summary: Trails are much like other riders, and myself, have described previously, although Goosefoot has had some off-to-the-side switchbacks built to let the most eroded (and practically unrideable)go back to nature.
I'm entering this new review to give directions how to reach Mt. A from the interior of Maine. It saves me 15 minutes of driving time. Also, one other thing, reviews have pegged the aerobic difficulty at a 3 out of 5. My experience is that it's a 4, or more. But maybe I'm an aerobic wimp. Don't think so. In any case, it depends on the speed you're going and the rest and route you take.
DIRECTIONS:
Heading south on Route 4 out of North Berwick, take a left onto Knight's Pond Road. If you get to Lowery's (they sell lawn furniture) you've gone too far. On KPR, go 0.85 mile to stop sign at T take a left onto Hooper Sands Road. Go 1.7 to another T, right after crossing bridge, and there, take a left. Go O.2 then turn right onto Belle Marsh Road. Go 0.6 and take left on Mountain Road--after 0.95 it will turn to dirt (graded gravel in summer months, closed from 11/1 to 4/30, although there weren't any barricades during that period). After 1.6 miles on the dirt, the pavement reappears, and you're at the base of the Mt. A summit road. It's easy to do this route once you've done it a couple of times.
