Mantle Lake Park

Mostly single track built around an extremely small lake (duck pond). Little ups and downs, lots of roots, tight turns, narrow go between trees, and 5 bridges.

This is a great trail if you're young or old because the trail is an intermediate trail and it can build up good leg muscle. You might want to go with a friend and have a barbecue or something. It is a great trail.

Reviewed by: Don , from Presque Isle, ME

Summary:
You can't go wrong here. Great place to hone your skills as well as get some much needed early season conditioning. It's sort of an abridged version of an epic ride. It has something for everyone and there are off shoot trails EVERYWHERE. If you piece them together, you can get 6-7 miles out of it. If you aren't familiar though, it will seem very redundant. I recommend it to area newbies and veterans alike. There is always a new challenge popping up somewhere.. it's almost like an Easter Egg hunt. It's worth it to ride it once a week just to see if there is anything new.

Recommended Route:
Turn by the venerable "Sandwich Shop" near UMPI, and follow the signs to Mantle Lake Park.

Summary:
lots of semi-technical singletrack and a few easy gravel trails.. if you are somewhere within the area of presque isle and like to ride, it is a good place to try out.. have fun

Recommended Route:
around the lake and branches off of that.. but there are trails all over this place.. if you have a good sense of direction just go all over and hit all the singletrack.. hard to get lost.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
chandler hill... maine winter sports... hardy hill
